~This is Lucas's  cousin Michael

When I woke up I felt exhausted. Rubbing my eyes I slowly stretch out. Going back into the position I was before I slowly opened my eyes. Looking over I realize my head is laying on Lucas's chest. He has one arm around my stomach and the other supporting his head. On the other side of him was another guy sprawled out and asleep also.

Too tired to get up I just close my eyes hoping to fall asleep. After a while of laying there I feel some movement and then, who I'm guessing is Lucas, running his fingers through my hair. Slowly I opened my eyes and looked up to see Lucas awake. He paused and smiled down at me.

"So I was thinking," he says, breaking the silence. "My family wanted me to come out to visit and I wanted to know if you would like to come along."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I just thought you would feel more comfortable coming with me then staying at your place alone after what happened the other day."

"I really don't want to intrude."

"You wouldn't be."

"When are you planning on going?"

"You mean we? Also later today."

"Later today?! But I'm not even packed!"

"We won't be leaving until later tonight and I can help you pack if you want. Now do you want to get something to eat or we can ruin my friend Jake's face."

I couldn't help but smile. Lucas ends up pulling out a whole bin of colorful sharpies and we spend the next few minutes drawing all over his face. I then go and follow Lucas back into the kitchen where he makes pancakes. Both of us were sitting down at the table Jake comes walking in. I couldn't help but laugh with all the random doodles on his face. The flowers on his cheeks and unicorn horn on his forehead really topped it off.

"What are you laughing at?" he asks confused.

"Nothing."

"Well I'm Jake."

"Madeline," I say before laughing again.

"Dude you really need to go check your face," Lucas says with a smile.

"What? Did I droole?"

"Just go."

I start laughing again after he leaves. "Did you at least get a photo of it?"

"Of course. Also I have never seen you laugh or smile this much."

"I don't know it was just really funny."

"Well I'm just glad to see you feeling better."

Before I could say anything back Jake comes storming in. "I'm gonna kill you Lucas!"

"Hey! It wasn't just me!"

"You did this also?" Jake says pointing an accusing finger at me.

"Lucas came up with the idea," I say pointing my finger in his direction.

"Okay. Okay. Jake you need to be getting back anyway before your wife shows up here with your kid and beat me. Also I need to get packing to visit my family."

"Okay so well have to do this again sometime because I always enjoy the break."

After Jake left Lucas quickly gets his things together and packed. He then started throwing snacks into a bag.

"Why so many snacks?"

"Because we are driving there."

"What do you mean isn't that far away?"

"It's actually not. Only about twelve hours away."

"Oh okay."

"So are you ready to go to your place to pack."

"Sure."

Once we get to my place I hesitate to go in. Lucas takes my arm and leads me inside telling me it was going to be okay. After we get inside he waits for me in the living room while I quickly pack. After I was finished we grabbed something to eat and then headed off. After a while we pull over.

"Where are we?"

"That's for me to know and you to find out. I just thought a break would be nice."

Eventually we got to a long bridge where there were also others crossing. The bridge started swaying and I could feel myself shaking as we started to cross it.

"Are you okay?" Lucas asks from behind me.

"Um...yeah," I say in a shaky voice.

"What is it?"

"It's nothing really," I say, not daring to turn around. My eyes were tearing up and I didnt want Lucas to know.

He then grabs hold of my arm. I jump and grab hold of his arm.

"Um, could I have my arm back? And what's going on? Are you afraid of heights or something?"

"No! I'm just afraid of falling!"

"Isn't that the same thing?"

"No!"

"Okay just take deep breaths we are almost to the other side and I promise it's worth it."

The second I get across I wrap my arms tightly around Lucas.

"Could you loosen up a bit? I cant breath."

"Sorry," I say going back away.

Lucas stops me and holds be to him while rubbing my back. "It's okay. I'm proud of you and now you only have to do it one more time."

"Wait one more time?!" I say looking up at him.

"Yeah we have to get back to the car somehow," he says wiping away my tears with his thumb.

"Oh boy."

"It's okay. I'll be there every step of the way and you will be perfectly safe," he says smiling down at me.
