It was time for the princes to come of age. You had watched as King Harrow's children grew up, and you believed they would become something truly great. You sought out Opeli, hoping to speak with Callum.

Y/n: Hello, Opeli. May you please let Callum know that I would like a word with him?

She nodded and went to fetch Callum for you.

Y/n: Callum, I've noticed that you aspire to be a mage, and you've been working hard towards that goal. I just wanted to tell you that you have what it takes.

Callum: What makes you say that? I don't think I'll ever be an amazing mage like you. You're literally the best mage I know.

Y/n: No, Callum, there's hope for you yet. I believe that with time and dedication, you'll become a great mage in your own right.

Callum: Thank you, Y/n. I'll keep trying.

Callum left, and you retreated to your room to speak with your pet, Fu-Fu.

Y/n: Fu-Fu, I know I haven't talked to you in a while, and I want to apologize. You're one of the sweetest creatures I've ever spoken to in this kingdom.

Fu-Fu let out a cute little squeak in response. Your thoughts were consumed by the dragon egg, and you hoped you had made the right decision in taking it. You didn't want to cause any harm to the egg, as it would only give the elves more reason to wage war against humanity.

Suddenly, your thoughts were interrupted by a voice behind you.

???: What do you think you're doing?

You turned around to see a man named Rennar standing there. He was an important figure in the kingdom, known for his wisdom and strategic thinking.

Y/n: What do you want, Rennar?

Rennar: I couldn't help but notice the look of guilt on your face. Is it about the dragon egg you took?

Y/n: It was a difficult decision, one I had to make on my own.

Rennar: No, there's another decision you made that I'm curious about. You let those elves live. Why?

Y/n: I believe it was the right thing to do. They were defenseless. If I had killed two defenseless elves, that would have made us no better than them.

Rennar: It's not about who is better, Y/n. It's about what's right for humanity.

Y/n: You think I'm not doing what's right for humanity? I'm just trying to keep us all safe.

Rennar: I hope you're right, Y/n. For all our sakes, I hope you're right.

You sighed in frustration as he left the room. He had been getting on your nerves since the moment you met him, but he was one of your friends, and you had to learn to tolerate him. There was so much to be done to make things right, and it seemed like everything was falling apart. The only power you had at your disposal was dark magic, but even that wasn't enough to stop the elves from attacking the humans. There were other matters that needed to be addressed, such as the safety of your children.

You wanted to talk to Harrow about the dragon egg. You knew he wouldn't understand, but you had to try. You wanted him to know that you were trying to protect humanity and your family. You found Harrow and approached him.

Y/n: Harrow, I need to talk to you. I know you may not agree with my decisions, but I believe I made the right choice.

Harrow: How can you say that? How does taking the dragon egg make the elves any less likely to seek vengeance upon us?

Y/n: You're missing the point, Harrow. I took the egg so that I could raise the dragon prince to be decent and just. I don't want it to become a powerful and destructive force.
