Chapter Eleven |Trap Door|

WADE'S P.O.V

"Those are my friends!" I thought to myself.

Hector must have heard the knocking because he came over. "One of those little 24 challenges?" He sighs to the skeletons that were inspecting me. I start sweating profusely at the thought of my friends. 

The skeletons nod at Hectors question, which makes him sigh again and sit on the couch. Sudden realization of something hit him, because next thing I know I'm getting dragged up the stairs and into my room. I look at Hector with a questionable look. 

"They can still see you since you're human!" He explained. "So I just have to stay in my room the whole time? What if they are doing a 24 hour challenge?!" I complain, I was trying to act like I didn't know them.

Hector thought for a second. "I'll bring you food." He shrugged. And shut my painting's door. This is going to be boring. Knowing how determined Eliza and Faith can be.. and they even dragged Connor into this so it's gonna be a long time. Maybe I can sneak out or negotiate something with Hector.

I look around my average size room, thinking of a plan. I atleast need to notify them I'm doing ok. As I'm gazing around my room I notice my closet. Maybe I can disguise myself.

I open my closet and look around for clothes. Before realizing I never put clothes up in the closet. I groan before almost shutting my door, but I notice something shiny at the corner of my closet. I decide to take a closer look at it. It looks like a trap door.

Now, do I really want to trust a trap door inside a haunted house?

Sure, I'm desperate. I need to atleast make sure my friends are doing alright.

I cautiously open the trap door, flinching and jumping back once I open it. I was prepared for, well, a trap.

I notice it goes deeper into the floor. I also notice a wooden ladder that's leaning against it so that people can climb in and out. That sounds... so... safe....

I sign before carefully putting one foot on the wooden ladder and slowly climb down, trying not to put a lot of weight on the ladder in fear that it might break.

It goes down for about 40 feet, or what feels like 40 feet. I'm not sure, but it was long. After I finish climbing the ladder I jump down onto the ground, it was still inside what looked like to be the walls. I couldn't see anybody and they couldn't see me. It kinda looked like a chamber.

I brush my hand on the stone wall while walking straight ahead. I glance around the small hallway excuse for a room. I can see paintings, which I'm guessing is representing the rooms downstairs. I wonder where they can find two pairs of the same painting...

I finally see a door after what feels like ages of walking. I slowly open the door, not wanting anyone to hear me. It turns out the door I walked through leads to the kitchen, to which Hector was in.

The door made a small creak, which made Hector turn around. Only to see me, still behind the door, nervously smiling at him. He looks in the living room to which I'm guessing my friends were, then he quickly rushes me back in the corridors, coming with me.

"What are you doing?!" He scolded at me in whispers, while shutting the door. 

"I don't want to be locked in my room for a long time!" I yell-whisper back, so my friends couldn't hear me.

Hector sighs, "They are getting comfortable on the couch, it looks like they're looking for something." He turns his gaze towards me and lifts an eyebrow(skeletons don't have eyebrows but let's pretend like it was something like face paint representing an eyebrow) "someone." He finishes, staring at me.

I nervously chuckle. "Well, what do you expect? You kinda kidnapped me." Hector sighs and puts his face in his hands. 

"I guess you can stay out of your room for as long as your friends are here. Maybe give them a few hints that you're ok. But do NOT go directly near them." He commands me.

I nod excitedly.
