"That was close..."

Afshang muttered as he pulled out the two blades embedded in his leg. He had managed to dodge the bullets and even keep his distance away from Calico.

What was that ability?

He had no clue how Calico's ability worked and he couldn't take unnecessary actions that would put him at a disadvantage. There was too much that he did not know.

There was one thing he was sure of:

"I'm feeling too sober for this..."

This wasn't the situation that Sulvanath had expected.

He knew that he would have to look after Eva but there was an extra who was recently added to the crew and it seems he's already making himself a nuisance. He needed a sitter and Sully was the only one available.

Running his fingers through his hair Sulvanath gave a cold look to Hikari. The person in question being completely unaware of the animosity towards him raised his hand for a shake.

"Let's get better acquainted, Sully." He said smiling.

Instead of replying in courtesy Sulvanath said exactly what was on his mind. "Do what I say exactly as I say it or you won't live to see tomorrow."

"U-uh... Okay..." Hikari said in a fleeting voice and retreated his handshake. "What am I supposed to... Do...?" As he adked the question Sulvanath had returned his attention to Eva who was watching the battle intensely.

"Let's go to the kitchen, Eva. There are a few new recipes I want to try." He said while smiling but the little girl barely reacted as she watched on.

"Hm? Something wrong, Eva?" Sulavanath asked.

"I wanna watch the fight." She answered without looking at him.

"Are you sure? Battles like this tend to get a bit bloody, you know?" He tried to persuade her but she didn't budge.

"Mm. I'm sure, Sully." She said while standing firm. "If I want to be a real pirate and mage one day I'll need to get used to things like this."

"... E-Eva..." Hikari was the one who muttered her name in shock. He understood now why she wanted to be involved in the fight so much. She had a goal in mind.

Sulvanath must have understood this as well because he just nodded and patted her head.

"I see." He said while smiling. "I'll make you something to eat then."

And just like her father, she whipped her head around with stars in her eyes and drool coming out of her mouth she smiled. "Really?! You will?!"

"Have I ever lied to you, kid?" He patted her head again while smirking. "A chef never jokes about food." A large wooden spoon appeared out of nowhere in his hand and he crossed his arms to emphasize his pride as a chef.

"Cool..." Eva muttered.

Hikari was looking at the two of them wondering how on Aether can they have a skit like this when a battle is taking place just before them.

"Hikari." Sulvanath said in a serious voice.

"Y-Yeah?" He said and his body went well rigid from the sudden amount of bloodlust being thrown against him.

Sulvanath then put his hand on Hikari's shoulder. It was the same way that Kaizoku had to done it to Sully but the smile on his face the strength in his grip was far different.

The pain Hikari was feeling was intense but he saw from the expression on Sully's face what he should do.

Pyro was on his other shoulder but it didn't interfere recognizing the difference in strength.
