(Sophia's POV)
I couldn't believe that I was here. I refused to go in at first, but then Gavin threatened to call Moon on me.
"So, how have you been?" Vivian asked, softly.
"Fine." I said crossing my arms.
"How's school?" Hank asked.
"Fine."
"Is that all we're going to get?" Vivian asked.
"You're lucky you're getting this."
"Sophia," Gavin scolded.
"What? I came just like you wanted."
"Sophia, how many times must we say we're sorry?"
"Until I believe you."
"We were trying to help you."
"You thought that to help me get over my PTSD, to help me move on, you would take me to visit that monster? You thought taking me to visit my...my... father would help? I didn't sleep for days after that. Gavin had to sleep in my room because I was so scared."
I was so mad. I was mad to the point that I had tears forming.
"Sophia,"
"No, I'm done. I'm leaving."
I stormed out of their house and started walking. I lasted about five minutes before I pulled out my phone.
"Hello?"
"I'm sorry to wake you."
"Don't be. What happened?"
"How'd you..."
"I can hear it in your voice."
"I went with Gavin to visit the foster parents I had after the fire."
"Didn't go well?"
"No."
I explained to him what happened and then he was angry.
"Good thing I wasn't there."
"Why?"
"Might've punched someone." He said, making me smile.
"I forgot how much of a fighter you were."
"It's one of my many charms that you fell for when we were kids. How could you forget?"
I laughed.
"F*ck, I've missed that sound." He said.
"I miss you."
"I'll be back soon."
"So you keep saying." I mumbled.
He laughed. "You've gotten a lot sassier, you know that?"
"Mhmm."
For the next thirty minutes, we talked about everything and anything. Then I heard him yawn and I felt bad.
"Go back to sleep. Call me when you wake up."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. Like always, your voice has calmed me down."
"Okay."
"Goodnight."
"Soph,"
"Yeah?"
