(Sophia's POV)
I sat in the library trying to study for an upcoming test. I couldn't do it though. My mind was on my brother. It's been two days since I saw him. He said he changed, but I don't believe it.
There's no redemption for someone who did what he did. Not in my book anyway.
"You're in your head again." Gavin said, popping up beside me.
"I know." I sighed.
"What are you thinking about?"
"What do you think?"
"Forget about him. Completely forget about it."
"I'm trying."
"Have you talked to Moon?"
"This morning. Just text messages though." I smiled softly.
"Any word on when he's coming back?"
I shook my head. "No, he says soon though."
Gavin and I went our separate ways for class with the promise to meet outside afterwards.
After class as I waited outside for him, someone approached me. I had my head down so I saw their shoes first.
My whole body froze when they spoke to me.
"Fancy seeing you here."
I looked up to see that Alex was standing in front of me. He had a smile on his face.
"What are you doing here?"
"I go to school here now."
"But..."
"But I'm a convict? Yeah, that was a bit tricky. The warden of the prison I was at wrote me a recommendation letter."
"Soph," I suddenly heard from behind me as Alex was about to say something.
I turned to see Gavin.
"Who is he?" Alex asked as Gavin approached.
Gavin stopped by my side and looked at Alex. It only took him a few seconds to understand the situation.
"What the f*ck are you doing here?" Gavin asked, taking my hand and pulling me behind him.
Alex smirked. "He your boyfriend? What happened to your little friend? Moon, I think his name was."
"It's none of your business who I am. Why the f*ck are you here?"
"I'm a student here now," Alex grinned. "And it's almost time for my class. I'll see you later."
My heart was beating out my chest by the time he was out of sight.
Gavin offered to take me home, but I truthfully wanted to stay with him. Mainly because I didn't know if Alex was lying and maybe he'd follow me back and find out where I live.
"I have to go back to my dorm and then we can head to your place."
"Okay."
We got to his dorm and his friends immediately started to greet me. I sat on his bed and listened to some of his roommates ramble on about who knows what while he got what he needed.
"Hey. Phoebe just texted. Her and the others are at the rec center. Wanna go?"
I shrugged. "I don't mind. I don't have any homework or anything."
The rec center is not far from campus and we go quite often. It's has a trampoline park, normal gym equipment, gymnastics equipment, a pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and much more. We go to hangout and have fun. We usually go every Friday.
We arrived at rec center and found everyone in the trampoline area.
"Come join us, Soph." Piper said as Gavin started jumping with them.
"I'll just watch." I said, sitting on the small bench.
I was watching them all jump and laugh when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I practically jumped out of my skin.
"Just me." Moon said, sitting beside me.
"When did you get back? How'd you know we were here?" I asked, attaching myself to him.
"About a hour ago and Gavin texted me."
"Moon?! You're back!" Phoebe suddenly yelled.
Moon gave her a polite smile and wave.
"Get Sophia to jump with us. She always sits out by herself." Phoebe said.
Moon gave me a look and I shrugged.
"Jump with me." He said, standing up.
I was going to say no, but I couldn't. Minutes later, we were all jumping together.
Moon and I jumped too close together and ended up falling down. I landed on my back and moon landed on top of me. He was able to keep most of his weight off me by placing his hands on each side of my head. We both froze when we realized that our mouths were inches apart.
I subconsciously bit my lip as my eyes focused on his lips. He gave me slight a smirk just as a loud scream pulled us from our little bubble.
Moon got up and then helped me up as we looked to see who screamed.
It was Giselle. She broke a nail. The world was ending.
We left the rec center about thirty minutes later and all went to our favorite diner to eat. I sat against the window and Moon slid in next to me. Gavin was going to sit by Moon, but Giselle beat him to it.
"So Moon," Giselle started in her flirty voice.
I quickly tuned her out and focused on my food. That doesn't mean I wasn't...upset about the fact that Moon was...entertaining her. He was answering her questions and chuckling at her jokes.
"You okay?" Gavin asked, sitting across from me.
"I'm fine." I answered, fully aware that Moon was staring at me.
We finished eating and went our separate ways. I was going to go with Gavin, but Moon said he wanted to show me something.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see when we get there." He said.
We soon arrived at a fancy looking building. I silently followed Moon inside and to the elevator. We rode the elevator all the way to the top before we got off.
"What is this place?" I asked, as I walked around.
"My apartment."
"It's beautiful. The view is beautiful."
"It's also about ten minutes from your apartment."
"Really? That may not be a good thing to tell me." I said turning to face him. "I may chose to sta-"
I was unable to finish my sentence.
Why?
Because he kissed me.
