Author's Pov

  He didn't know how he got here. He didn't even know what he did. He just remembered agreeing to do something for her. But now he's going to figure out why.

"Umm..Rouge?"

"Yes?"

  "I don't recall agreeing to do something like this." He stated.

"Yes you did," She turned and looked at him weird "why do you think I asked?" She questioned.

"Cause you needed someone strong and handsome to do a man's job." He started to flex his muscles to prove his point.

"Umm..sure." She muttered.

He took this as a chance to look around at his surroundings. They were infront of their school. There were other mobians walking around them due to school being out. And it looks like they were waiting for something or someone, due to the way Rouge was looking around frantically while muttering to herself.

This wasn't suspicious at all.

"Rouge."

"Rouge."

"Rouge!"

"Ahhh yes, love?" She stopped moving and looked at him.

"What's going on?" He growled.

"You see, I have this friend-"

"Rouge!" A female voice yelled out from behind them.

The two turned around to see who called, only to see a purple cat walking towards them with a look of panic on her face. "Oh there you are! I was looking for you." Rouge said in a sweet voice.

"O-oh, I'm sorry. I got lost." She chuckled nervously.

"Hello? What about me?" The male questioned.

Rouge gasped. "Oh! Of course! Why didn't you say so sooner?"

He mentally face palmed himself deciding to not answer her questions knowing it was no use.

She started to speak again explaining what was going on. " Blaze here," she pointed her head towards the cat infront of them "Needs help getting home. She's new to the neighborhood and sadly I can't provide the service she needs, cause I have a party I need to help set up. That's where you, Espio, come in and walk her home safely." 

What better way to hook people up than this?

Blaze started to stutter. "U-um, a-are you s-sure 'bout this? I-I don't w-wanna waste E-Espio's time."

He sighed. As much as he hated this last minute thing, he couldn't say no, cause he didn't want to be a bad friend and put her in danger cause of his selfishness. She was new after all and didn't know her way around. "I don't mind. I just can't take too long though. Is that okay?"

  She blushed and nodded. "O-of course! T-thank you!"

He chuckled to himself. It'll be a lie to say she wasn't cute. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yea!"

They both started to walk off of the school grounds, forgetting that one had seen it all happen. And that one was Rouge. She had a sad smile on her face. Any other day, she would feel like she was the best friend ever, except she didn't.

She felt guilty.

Rouge the bat who was all about her sassiness and looks felt guilty. But why did she feel guilty?

        Only time could tell.
