(NOTE: I don't know how old Yi is but I'm going to assume she's 14 in here. Jin is going to be the same age and Peng is going to be 12.)
Back in the city, Shanghai, known for it's busy people, busy streets, busy traffic and well, you get the idea. In a tall gray apartment, a young woman calls for her daughter. "Yi! I'm leaving for work!" She knocked on the door and asked, "Yi? Are you awake?". She opened it, finding no one in the room.
"Morning Ma! Morning Nai Nai!", Yi greeted, appearing out of their bathroom while her mother gave her a confused and puzzled look. She wore her usual red T-Shirt with a picture of a headphone, light-blue jeans (shorts), gray tights, striped socks and casual footwear: shoes.
"Going out again Yi? Be careful!", her mother said with concern.
"Be back by dinner", her grandmother said sternly.
"I will and I'll try", Yi replied, heading towards the apartment's door.
"Warm enough?", her mother asked.
"Pretty toasty."
"And where are you off to?", her grandmother questioned. Seems like nothing's changed in this household, except for Yi and her family's relationship. They've grown so much closer.
"Oh um, I'm doing some stuff with Jin and Peng", Yi replied a bit nervously.
"Stuff? Are you working again? I like you being ambitious, Yi, but you going out with Jin?!"
"Ma!", Yi's mother cried out in exasperation.
"Nai Nai, I mean, yeah I'm going out with him but not that kind of going out!", Yi gasped, surprised.
"And Peng! How is his cousin going to react?", Nai Nai looked at her questioningly.
"Ma, Yi and Jin are just friends, you know that", Yi's mother reasoned.
"Exactly! Nai Nai, I'm only fourteen! I'm waaaay too young. Jin and I are just friends! Peng knows that, okay? And Nai Nai, a friendly reminder; Jin is also fourteen, he's not older than me and Peng is twelve ", Yi said, hoping she'll make it to work in time.
"Peng is twelve? I thought he was eleven!"
"Nai Nai, he was eleven and a half and his birthday just passed. You gave him your baozi as your birthday present, remember?", Yi said, chuckling at the thought of Peng wolfing down her Nai's Nai's delicious pork buns.
Nai Nai still looked suspicious, but she nodded her head. "Bye Yi!", her mother said cheerfully, her grandmother, not so much. "Oh wait, Yi! Do you need any money?", her mother asked. "I got it covered!", Yi said as she closed the door, with her small brown backpack dangling from the inside of their apartment floor. She tried to pull it. 'Why does this always happen?', Yi thought as she opened the door, pulling her backpack and smiling at her family," Bye", she said with finality.
Ever since they had their adventure with Everest the Yeti last year, things changed. Yes, her family's relationship is better and her friendship with Jin had improved. She spent more time at home and more time playing with Peng. She had a new dream and Jin was helping her to earn some money to make it happen.

"Why do you want to be a zoologist so much, Yi?", the dark-haired male teen asked.
