Abominable: The Yeti Returns

Chapter 11

"They're gaining on us!", Peng yelled.

"I'm trying! It can't go any faster!", Yi cried, pulling the chord multiple times.

"Here, let me try", Jin banged the motor.

"How is that going to help?!", Yi crossed her arms. "Everest, could you make it go faster?"

Everest smiled and nodded as he and his siblings dipped their hands into the water and willing it to become faster while humming.

"Look out! There's the field!", Jin yelled.

"Uh Everesttt!", Yi clung onto the Yeti.

The Everest kept speeding up and into the field of grain. A huge wave of wheat formed as the Yetis hummed, glowing bright blue.

The teens turned to look at the wave. It was huge. They smiled. Dr. Zara and Mr Burnish couldn't get through it, there's no way they could.

"Oh no you don't!", the female in the vehicle snapped, stepping on the gas harder as the vehicle plowed through the wave.

"Oh come on!", Yi yelled in annoyance.

"Uh Yi?", Jin asked.

"Why can't you just leave the Yetis alone!"

"Yi?", Peng asked.

"Why can't anybody just leave the Yetis ALONE!"

"Yi", Jin tried.

"They're creatures of the wild!"

"Yi."

"They belong to nature!"

"Yi!"

"And they're GOING TO STAY WITH NATURE THAN IN YOUR DARN FILTHY HANDS!"

"YI!"

"WHAT?!", she turned her head sharply at Jin.

"First of all, calm down. Second, we're about to crash!"

The babies giggled while Everest made an 'O' shape with his mouth. They all screamed as they slammed into the jungle where Yi and Pearl had been. Trees grew taller and the roots grew thicker and larger. "Tell me when it's over", Jin's eyes were shut tightly. The vehicle was still pursuing them. Thick leafy vines twisted and blocked their way. Yi found a sharp pocket knife she always left in her backpack for emergencies.

She cut them as hard as she could. The vines snapped and Yi continued to cut as fast and as hard as she could with each vine they got blocked with or stuck in. And with each cut, the vines broke successfully.

"This is one sharp blade", Yi stated, sawing three vines at the same time as more vines gathered behind them, trying to block their pursuers.

"And one strong girl", Peng winked. Yi rolled her eyes at her friend's cousin, shaking her head and smiling.

"Is it over?", Jin opened his eyes. The huge vehicle suddenly burst through behind them. A female with one hand holding the rim and her leg on the step, yelling, "GIVE ME THOSE YETIS!"

"Okay bye", Jin covered his eyes again. Yi rolled her eyes and asked the abominables to go faster. They hummed more and the vines started growing more and glowing a brighter shade of blue. More and more thick vines gathered behind them, clearing the way iin front of them. The female took out a long sickle and began slicing the vines. With each hard swipe, the vines broke away easily.

"She's got a reaping-knife!", Peng screamed.

"Reaping-hook", Yi corrected. She pulled the chord once more. Luckily the boat picked up speed and dashed towards the end of the jungle.

"Oh no you don't", the female growled. She gave her worker a look and he immediately understood. He pushed a button and sent two claw-like hooks shooting out. They grabbed hold of the sides of the boat.

"What the-", Yi tried to push off the claws, they were firmly attached. The vehicle reeled them in.

"We have to jump!", Yi screamed. "We have to what now?", Jin uncovered his eyes in shock.

"Come on! It's our only chance!", Yi grabbed him and Peng by the arm and stared downwards. She made sure her backpack and violi  were firmly slung around her back. They were a few feet below the ground, and the Yetis were dangling from the boat. "Everyone", Yi cried. "JUMP!"

Jin screamed. Peng screamed. The Yetis screamed. The babies were actually screaming in joy. Yi screamed in excitement since she's never jumped off this high off the ground before.

They landed in the dirt. In spite of the impact, they were fine, just a little dirty. "Come on! Run!", Yi ordered, running towards the entrance of the jungle. They started running when they heard "YOU AIN'T GETTING AWAY! "

Yi had just enough time to think, 'Wait, "ain't"? Isn't that suppose to be American? But she sounds like a British...yet also an American. I must be going nuts.'

Suddenly, men in black-

(see what I did there? Ha- I am not funny. Anyway-)

-swarmed around them. Yi made a gasp and one of them landed in front of her. She took a few steps backward and felt her back pressed against someone else. She looked back. It was Jin. The Yetis and the teens moved backward, their backs pressing against each other. The teens grabbed the babies protectively.  One of the goons shot Pearl, which Yi made it in time to block it. "Yi!", Jin gasped.

"I'm fine", she looked at her arm. The tranquilizer dart was planted in her elbow. She knew it wouldn't do much damage to her since it was the bone, although she felt a bit drowsy.

"No!", Peng yelled as another goon shot Everest. He yelped and shook his head violently. He had gotten stronger since then. One measly little dart wasn't going to do anything to him. Yi plucked out the dart on her elbow and the one on Everest's fur and flicked them to the ground. "Don't hurt them", she growled, making Everest growl. The babies followed and Everest began to hum. The ground glowed bright blue and vines shot out from behind them. Each vine grabbed the goons, making them scream helplessly.

"Everest! Not too harsh!", Yi held the Yeti's arm as one of the vines wrapped around the goon's neck, choking him. The vine released and the goon retreated. With each goon appearing, Everest would look at them angrily and dangerously and a vine would shoot out to grab them. One of the goons managed to drag a gun towards him and shot a dart at Snowflake.

"NO!", Yi yelled, holding Snowflake as the dart landed on her back. "Yi!", Jin cried, squatting down. She was feeling drowsy. "Here, I'll-", before he could finish, he was shot with a dart too, near his shoulder, the upper arm. "Jin!", Yi half-cried. Then Peng was shot while trying to save White. "No.....", Yi fell on the ground. Everest and the babies surrounded the teens protectively. The babies weren't completely defenseless. They yelled and more vines shot out.

"I've had enough of this!", the female said angrily. She sliced each vine that came towards her. The Yetis were soon frightened, but continued. She sliced a vine and grabbed a gun. She shot at the babies, with each yelp or cry, she smiled in pleasure. She shot multiple darts at Everest as he tried to help his siblings. He gave out large yelps and fell beside Yi.

"Everest", Yi said weakly, trying to reach the creature. The mysterious female smiled at her and saw her hand reached her face, before her vision blackened.
