(Alfred's POV)
They asked me probably every question they could think of. I answered them all truthfully. Detective Longbar was a kind enough man but it just seemed to me he didn't get it.

" What time where you supposed to be home?" He asked. He sat across from me in the living room. Pen and paper in hand.

" 3:30. But I didn't get home in time, I was late." I had a lot of words, stories, that I could tell him. I could tell him that Alexandra would've yelled at me, said I should be more careful and keep an eye on the clock. I could tell him that it was quite scary when she did that.

" What do you think happened her?"

" I don't know!" I snapped. " If I had known don't you think I would've told you!?"

Detective Longbar held up his hands in a calming gesture. Caden came in and put a hand on my shoulder.

" Why don't you go to your room Alfred. You look tired."

I looked into his eyes. I could try to convince him I was fine, but the truth was, I was beat. Who knew having someone you loved yanked out from under your nose could be so tiring.

" Yeah, ok." I complied.

I trudged to my room. I locked the door behind me, I didn't want anybody coming in. Looking around my room, I could see all the memories Alexandra and I had made in here. Over on the left wall, under the dragon poster, was a hole. I had dared her to punch the wall to see how strong she really was. Under the bed was a stick that Alexandra had carved. The window was still cracked from the time a pillow fight had gotten out of control.

I sighed and flopped down on the bed. I dug around under the bed and found it. I brought it out and studied it for the hundredth time. It wasn't more than a half a foot long and an inch thick, But she had put so much time into it. Carved on the stick was a Chinese style dragon. It started at the bottom and spiraled all the way up, breathing fire out on the last inch.

I started crying again. I curled up in a tight ball with the stick held close to my heart.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I did. It felt weird, I was floating in darkness. What was weirder was that I could control this dream,as far as moving around was concerned at least. I still held the " Dragon Stick". I looked around and caught sight of a light. It looked like it was at the end of hallway, very faint. I glided towards it. I was really close when it flashed out, which left me in complete darkness.

I clutched the stick hard, I looked down at it. I couldn't see it through the gloom, but I didn't need to, I had it's looks memorized. Suddenly the carving started to glow. Spiraling up, it light the darkness in blood red light. I stared at it, the sight of red was a bit unnerving after what happened to Alexandra. The stick was getting hot...... Why? Then.... Ok I'm losing it! I shook my head and rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Ok, so I wasn't. The carving had peeled itself off the stick and was now flying around my head. It was a glowing red and fully real. It was just over a foot long, had ombré red to black scales, sharp little claws and little whiskers and eyebrow looking things.

It stopped and stared right at me. I reached out to touch it, but it jerked away and snorted a little puff of smoke. It turned it's head slowly and flew toward where the light used to be. Shoving the stick in my back pocket I followed the dragon. It looked back at me, but it didn't slow down.

I don't know how long or how far we flew. Well, he flew I glided. Soon he stopped and circled around my head before resting on my shoulder. It was still pitch black but, the darkness didn't feel as vast anymore. Like we were in a room. Suddenly at least ten flickering lights came on. Looking around I noticed that we were, indeed, in a room. It had a long stone table with ten seats around it. The lights moved toward the chairs, on their way to the chairs they changed form. Half and half, men to women. They all were humanoid, but some had wings, others had tails or cat ears, others had fangs or snake hair.
