It has come to my attention that I haven't updated since last year.( old and over used joke, I know) so I express my deepest apologies. :( and I have a question for you guys! I want to call you something... You know, instead of just 'guys'. Like how Pewdiepie calls his subscribers ' Bros'. If you have any suggestions I'll be happy to listen!

( Alexandra's POV )

It was hard to leave Inaya. She had been so nice to me! We hadn't departed right after our feast, we stayed with her in the cave for a week. During which Henrick had seen fit to start teaching me sword play, archery, hand-to-hand combat and throwing knives. He pushed me hard in lessons and I came away from them with bruises, but they always healed overnight. Every night I would eat a wonderful meal prepared by the trolls and every night I would take a loooonnggg hot bath.

Wack!

" Remember to keep your hands up when I lunge!" Henrick would state, then land a blow to my ribs.

" Alexandra, keep your guard up!"

" I AM!" I spat back at him while holding my ribs.

Henrick sighed and called class over for the night.

" We leave in the morning." He reminded me while he took off his hand wrappings. " So make sure you have everything you need packed and ready to go."

" I do." I assured him as I stalked out of the room, feeling a little anger toward him.

That night after supper and a bath I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned most of the night, finally I got up. Putting on my robe I snuck out of my room and wandered the warmly lit halls, hoping I could find it.

It wasn't too far from the dining hall, I thought.

I turned the corner and found myself at the carved doors. I took a deep breath and carefully opened the doors. Things like this had a bad habit of making noise when you least wanted them to, that's the way it was in the movies at least. Thankfully it opened quickly and quietly. I shut the doors and stood there with my hands on the nobs, scared to turn around. I steeled my nerves and turned to face the mirror. Moonlight filtered in through a skylight that I hadn't noticed before.

I could barely see my reflection but, it was still the same. An Elf, I was still an Elf. I slowly walked toward the mirror, red robes parting before my bare feet. I stood an arm's length away from the mirror, as far as I knew this was the only mirror in Inaya's home.

" Mirrors are dangerous things."

I jumped at the deep voice behind me. I turned to see a very old Moss Troll standing in the doorway. I didn't recognize him. He had a hunched back and walked with a thick gnarled stick. His eyes seemed to glow in the moonlight. He hobbled into the room and closed the door behind him.

" I don't believe we've met before." I said.

He chuckled and gestured for me to lean down. I sat down with my feet tucked behind me.

" No, we haven't." He shook his head and looked up at me. " But, who I am isn't really important now, is it? What the REAL question right now is how are you going to get home, hhhmmmm?"

I stared back at his milky white eyes. With sudden shock I realized, " You're blind!" I stated, which was rude. But he just chuckled.

" Yes, child, I am blind. But I see better than some who do have sight." He said while walking around the mirror. " But you haven't answered my question yet, how are you going to get home?"

I sat there pondering his question.

" Henrick and Inaya are convinced I have to- that I have a destiny," I waved my hand dismissively, " or something like that, to complete here then I can go home."

" Oh? Is that what Henrick says?"

" Uuuhhh, yes. Why does that confuse you?" I asked.

" Oh, Henrick has a long history we will not discuss."

Ok, I thought.

" If I may ask," I ventured, " why did you say mirrors were dangerous?"

He smiled slightly.

" Mirrors can distort what you see based on what you think ought to be there." He said with careful slow words. "You get so wrapped up in what you are not, that you forget to treasure what you are! You being you, and accepting that, is the best state of mind you can be in. Because then, you realize that you do not need the approval of anyone but those who love you and care for your well being."

I thought hard about this, what he said had hit close to every worry that plagued me, and most other teenagers, and made me reavaluate who I needed approval from.

" Can I get that written down?" I asked, " That's very wise..... You, are very wise."

He reached out and touched my cheek, staring at me with those blank eyes.

" Wise? I won't flatter myself." He chuckled again, soft and low, it put me at ease. Suddenly he turned serious.

" You will face some terrible things while you are here." He said solemnly, his eyes were sad. " Be prepared Earth Shaker. Now sleep."

I was about to ask what he meant by, Earth Shaker, but I suddenly fell asleep.

I woke to Henrick shaking my shoulders.

" What?" I asked sleepily. I sat up thinking I was still in the mirror room, but I was in MY room, which confused me.

Henrick pulled open my curtains, letting warm morning light stream in.

" Get ready, we leave today." He said staring out at the mountains,
