Chapter 9
Iheld a knife to her throat in an instant. I'm not taking any chances on one familiar face, I've gotten to far to risk it now.
"Can I help you?" I asked, a dark gleam in my eyes.
"I should be asking you that, I've laid claim to this place. I use it as a trading post. You need ammo, food, or weapons you trade something useful that you have. Most people trade good information about safe houses and places run by these monsters." She explained.
I rolled my eyes as she eyed the gun I had just had in my hand. I removed the knife from her throat before starting to exit.
"I'll trade you for the sword." She spoke up.
"Go to hell." I snapped before walking out, the guys at my heels.
Like is trade my amazing quality weapons for things people didn't want. Over my undead body!
We all hopped into the car and went in search of somewhere else to search. No need to bother her business.

I paced around waiting to hear word for the people I had spread throughout the area. I had to find her. She'd escaped a little less then week ago. No one could find her. She must be used to hiding from people.
Why and how is she so prepared for this apocalypse?

I woke up in the car and I was alone. I saw the knives and Alistair's sword missing. I saw we were at a Family Dollar, they're probably looking for food.
Grabbing my sword I stepped out of the car and dashed inside. I looked around, not hearing any footsteps echoing around the nearly empty building.
"Jasper?! Alistair?!" I shouted not caring if anyone or anything heard me.
"Star?!" I heard Jaspers voice. I ran to the sound of it. I saw his standing there, alone.
"Where's Alistair?" I asked, hinting on the fact that he's alone.
"I don't know." He looked confused.
"What do you mean you don't know?" I asked.
"I was looking in the storage room while he looked up here. When I came back he was just gone. No sign of his ever being here, not even his sword." He explained, obviously still on a daze.
The only thought that popped into my head was, this can't be good.
* Alistair'sPOV *
The darkness sucked me in. Like a never ending dark hallway. To be honest it terrified me. All I want at this point is to know where Star is and give her a big hug.
Where am I? Where does this never ending darkness lead to?
* Star'sPOV *
Jasper and I sat in the car in silence. While I was mentally flipping shit he was probably wondering how did Alistair go missing without his hearing it or noticing it. I just hope he isn't blaming himself for Alistair's disappearence. I mean sure they shouldn't have split up but I hope they at least checked out the buildin first.
"Did you two check out the building before splitting up?" I asked.
"Yeah. He checked around the front and then the storage rooms. After that he stayed in the front to see if you were going to come through." He stated, he sounded distant though. Like he wasn't all here.
I nodded. Then he focused on driving again. Where ever Alistair as I hope he's okay....
*Alistair'sPOV *
I woke up to moaning and groaning. For a second I thought it was me making the noises, ntil I looked down. I'm in a room above a pit of fucking zombies. Who the hell thought of this idea?!
"Hello?! Where are the monsters that locked me in a box?!"I shouted.
"You can leave when you give up the girl." A voice came over an intercom system.
"You left her behind when you took me you bastard." I snarled, like my humanity was fading fast.
I couldn't help it, these people should've looked better if they wanted Star. She's good at hiding in plain sight. It's a weird skill of hers, wonder how she mastered it.
"Where are they now?" The person demanded to know.
"If I knew I might tell you. But since you took be before the three of us could regroup." I couldn't help but get snappy, this person is pissing me off.
After I stated that someone came in, placed a bag over my head and forcefully shoved me into a truck or van. This fucking sucks ass.
* Star's POV *
We stopped at another hotel a few hours later. We're both worried and tired. There's no way we could stray to far from the store in case Alistair showed up. There's no way we wanted to stray to far from the store.
After clearing the rooms we chose one downstairs. I taped on sign to the door that stated one word. Once name. Alistair. I'm sure he'd get the picture since I'd done it after we left the store and at the gas station we went to after that. I wanted to let him know what direction we were going in if he popped up again. Just to be safe.
"Are you okay?" Jasper finally spoke up.
"Yeah, I'm going to go empty a couple vending machines." I stated grabbing my sword and placing a gun in the small of my back. You could never have to many weapons! At least that's what my dad always said. In this case, it's true.
I stepped out of the room and followed a sign or two that lead to the vending machines. Of course I angrily killed a few zombies along the way. By a few I mean like three or four. In case you were wondering the exact number of zombies I tortured before finally shoving my sword through their brain. Weird huh? You think Zombies are going to be fast when it comes to finding their prey, but it's all a lie. If you get the to fall to the ground they aren't as fast.
Finally I broke into the vending machine after a few good hits with a pipe. Guess I could've used Jasper's man strength. After I stuffed the small bags of snacks into the duffle bag I made my way back to our hotel room. That's when I heard someone clear their throat. I turned around and saw a girl there.
"Can you spare some food please?" She asked. She looked innocent enough. Blonde hair and baby blue eyes looking at me wide and scared.
I tossed her few bags of chips before turning to be on my way. But this chick wasn't having it. She thought just because I gave her food I'd give her shelter and a ride aswell.
"Listen, all the other rooms are clear. No beat it!" I shouted. Talk about the worst mistake ever.
A zombie rounded the corner. Not just any zombie, a mutated zombie.
"Run!" I shouted at her as she stared at the creature. She was paralyzed with fear. I pulled the gun out and had just got the thing in my sights when he grabbed the girl.
I fired off one shot just as it sunk it's teeth into her fleshy neck. It let out what almost sounded like a groan of pleasure as he ate his prize. I fired off another shot as the girls screams died down and her body went limp. The next shot I fired went into his eye. This is when he finally went down. Three shots into his head. After that I shoved my sword into the girls head before walking back to the hotel room.
No emotions filled my mind or body during or after these kills.....
