Victoria's P.O.V

Dash circled around my heels under the judging table "Dashy, be a good boy," I pet his head and he smiles at me. My focus turns to the dog show I prop my table on my fist watching as my eyelids grew heavy my eyes shot open once someone tapped on my shoulder "Where's Dash?" I raised a brow at my mother and lift the tablecloth "What do you mean he's right here?" I glance down "Where's Dash?" she rolls her eyes, "I told you to keep him on the leash, Vicky," I gulp as she picked me up by my arm "He's gone!" my mother's let's go and sighs deeply "You fell asleep," I nod "I stay up reading last night," she glares at me "I'll tell the guards," she marches off her petticoats bouncing behind her. Loud barks caught my attention as I rush towards them I see a man throwing a dog in a cage "That's my dog, get back here!" the carriage left in a haste guards came up behind me "Ma'am, what's the matter?" I run after the carriage tripping on my dress "A man stole my dog!" my mother grumbled past the guards "Princess, why are you in the mud?" I began to weep the world around me becoming blurred by my tears.

I poked at my chicken broth with my spoon not feeling hungry I push myself from the table "May I be excused I'm not feeling well?" my father sigh blue eyes met mine "Vicky, your excused," I nod and left leaving my bowl on the table my mother judgmental eyes follow me. I curl under my silk blankets that were cool to the touch there was a knock on the door "Come in," I say with my eyes closed something nudged my arm "Need something sweet?" my father smile handing me a plate of sponge cake "Yeah," I take a bit and began crying leaning in his shoulder "Sweetheart, we can buy you a new puppy," I shook my head "No, I want Dash," he sighs and pecks my temple "I'll see what I can do to find him," I smile and embrace him "Thanks dad," he shuts the doors as I wipe the crumbs from my lips thinking about Dash I get up and dress in my cheapest dress.

I tiptoed out my room a bonnet on my head I turn the corner stumbling on a maid "Why are you dressed up, ma'am?" I bit my lip and took her by the arm to and a hidden passageway that was decorated spider webs clouds of dust flew up as we wandered "I'm leaving," she gulped "Are you coming back your highness?" I chuckle "Once I find Dash," Cora laid a gentle hand on my shoulder and stare me in the eye "It's dangerous out there for a princess," I nodded "I'm not going as a princess," the maid's throat bobbed "I'll assist you, your mother wouldn't approve of me letting you out alone," I grin and embrace her cheeks turned rosy as we went farther from the castle.
