Dash's P.O.V

The bubblegum sky turned the sun a carmine a magenta fog covered the Earth transforming people into slaves. My forehead pressed against the frost blanketed windowpane while magpies chirped constantly. Y/N slept in the bathtub face shrouded in a cotton towel I sighed and tore my head from the window the water rivulets down. The almost empty sack plops into the small pan with a dust cloud. Heat and water congeal it into bland porridge. My eyes travel to the new noise footsteps "Good morning Dash," he climbs onto a dining chair "We need to head to the city for food," he gulps "Did we run out?" I turn the stove off and splint it between the two of us. We eat on the counter "Yeah,".

We scavenge for food in a deserted city. Tattered British flags oscillated in the gushes of miasma spattered the land with rose snow "This is London now," Y/N rummages carcasses of peasants "Y/N isn't that disrespectful," I coward behind him he shrugs "There dead,". A yapping "Y/N, what is that?" he charges forward into an alley tackle and skinny dog. Y/N pulls her out by her neck. The ebony Saluki with a slim waist and loud bark "Get off me!" I glare at him "Stop," he releases her neck and she coughs "That's no way to treat a lady," Y/N smirks at me "Does Dashy have a crush?" I grumble and introduce us "Sorry about my friend Y/N, I'm Dash,". She leans to my eye level "Nice to meet you I'm Velika," her voice is soft.

Velika is taller than Y/N her legs long fragile beneath her thin body "Why is a show dog so far from home?" Y/N starts to circle her as though he's fighting within the amphitheater again "I was kidnap and was attempted to be stolen before this apocalypse," she doesn't flinch her hazel eyes remain on Y/N. Velika wore a burgundy ribbon around her neck "Are you alone?" she glimpses to a building "Yes," he halts in front of her "What is important about that building across the street you keep glancing at it?" she tenses as the ribbon is yanked from her neck into a murky puddle "Don't hurt them!" she cries as the Gull terrier speeds into the house. The house is destroyed with the stench of mold "Please don't hurt them!" she whimpers as Y/N stood above the trembling woman and her young toddler "They have hypothermia,". He bows his head towards the trembling mother "Ebony found some strays," he wraps around the child protectively "Get wood Dash and Velika," I gawk at the sudden change of behaviors but get nudge out the door by the Saluki. We gather the wood "Did they adapt to the gas?" she raises a brow "What do you mean gas?" I gaze at the afternoon strawberry sky "A bad person is doing this," her mouth O's "That explains the fires and corpses," I nodded "The gas is turning people into slaves," she chuckles before understanding my serious tone "I've met them Yesterday I don't know much of there journey," I sigh "How did you escape?" she pouts and continues walking with me at her heels "The fires broke out everywhere and I ran until I reached a place that could be considered a haven," she steps over a body of child whilst I stepped around it "It feels like it's over now doesn't it?" she chuckles "It's over, but not for us there's a reason we're here still,".

Zlata's P.O.V

The raven's heels were splattered in crimson her grin wide and crazed "My slave I know what your plotting," my bare back stung against the scaly wall. Long gashes pitted my marred back "This again," my voice is hoarse and shaky "Argentino will have your pets here soon enough, Zla," a crooked smile crept to my chapped blood crusted lips "Let's get this war over with Hel, you make it seem as though you enjoy my company,". Drowning in her sickening sweet perfume she steps closer "It seems physical torture isn't working for you, but we can change that," I snort "Your torturing methods do work on me, Hel,".

My lips quiver tearing my eyes to the periwinkle eyes "Mom?" I crawl to the woman sitting under a tree. The warmth of the sun swaddled me as I ascend the hill grasping on the tree's exposed roots that weaved around the hill. The sky was forgotten azure. Dirt and pollen. I embraced the woman to giggles affectionately "Zlata, you've grown so much," she delicate hands ruffle my braided cherry-brown hair. I close my eyes resting my head in her lap taking in her stable breathes. The rise and fall of her chest "This is fake," her eyes kindled in angry "You could've lived the rest of your life happy!" the world shifts to misty stygian. The gnarled tree hung my parent's skeletons by the leafless branches. The tree towers above me as I dangle from its robust roots "This isn't my end!" goose skin pricks my naked body my nails dug into the sooty earth that flaked in my grasp "No this isn't how I die!".

Hel cackles her wings drape around her like a feathery cloak "I had mercy," she stomps on my fingers with her glossy heels I don't let go "I don't need your mercy!" I release myself from the cliff the wind rams my ears. My mother's face. Love potions. Sitting in my father's lap as he worked. Aradhaka. My happiest moments. Tears swell in my eyes "They'll stop you!" my body caught in her arms. She sits me on her lap arms embracing me under the tree "You may open your eyes," I unfurl them towards the moonlight. Wide and cratered. Her skeleton hand unlinks the rosemary from my throat gently "Why do human care about these types of gods?" the molten sliver curves around her bony hand "You destroyed my home and butchered my family in front of me,". My eyes focus on my hand uprooting brittle grass from dirt "There is no bad and good, Zlata," I gulp shifting my gaze into her remorseful ones "I am crime boss," she chuckles and strokes my matted hair "I'm worse," she presses her lips to mine "I won't let you win," she sighs "You winning already," I gawk at her as I was knock out.
