ASTRID

I watched as someone put another new born into the baby ward. They looked so peaceful and happy I bet none of them are like me. I've always wanted to hold my own baby, fall in love, get married or watch one of the nurses take my baby into the baby ward. I know that's never going to happen, not for as long as I live.

Someone enters the room but I can't be bothered to look back, I'm to busy. Instantly I know who it is.
"I saw you moving in your stuff,' he said, 'it was uhh..it was a lot of it." He said staring at me, I don't even want him here I just want to be alone. "Are you gonna be here for a while." But I don't answer. "Hello? Ohh...you're deaf." I take that offensive. "Shouldn't you be protecting your room from your guests? You here for the hour or what?" I say.
"So it was you lurking in the hall."
"Mm I don't lurk and you followed me here."
"I wanted to introduce myself. But that little attitude of yours-"
"Let me guess- your the kinda guy that ignores the rules cause it makes you feel in control- am I right?" I say feeling kind of proud o f myself. "You're not wrong."
"You think that's cute?"
"Do you think it's cute." Hiccup says in a husky voice I turn back to look back the at the babies.

"I think that's disgusting," I say, 'letting your friends borrow your room for sex and I don't think it's cute."
"You don't like sex?"
"No! I like sex. Yeah, I like sex. Sex is fine."
"Ha, well fine isn't a ringing endorsement but I'll take some common ground on it."
"I don't think you can comment."
"Ohh that's cold." I was about to punch Hiccup, when Barb entered the room. "What? What are you doing up here. Six feet apart at all times you know the rules. Hiccup get back to your room."
"There you go now you know my name,' like I didn't know, 'Hiccup Haddock and you are?"
"Deaf." I said before putting my mask back on. "Astrid thank you for putting your mask back on." Barb said. "Astrid, that's your name, you need to lighten up it's just life, it'll be over before you know it." That was the last thing I heard him say before Hiccup put his mask on and left. "So he has CF?" I ask. "B cepacia. Part of a new drug trial for his disease. You can go closer and you can kiss the possibility of new lungs goodbye. There's no coming back from that bacteria you'll catch if you get closer, stay away."

...

I'm walk back in my room for my aflo vest. "Ok aflo vest for thirty more minutes then you'll be all set. Need anything else before I hit the road?" Asked Barb. "Chocolate yogurt."
"Oh. So I'm room service now."
"Hmf, gotta take advantage of the perks." I said while we both started laughing. I start to cough while I cover my mouth and vomit put some goo. "Good girl, get it all out. Right sweetie see you tomorrow."
"Bye Barb."

Barb leaves the room while I'm still coughing.

HICCUP

I go back to my room, to be honest Astrid is pretty hot and I decide to type up her YouTube channel. Look at all the videos admiring her beauty then I clip her latest video.

After the first video click on on a different one: Astrid- "Like all kids with cystic fibrosis I was born terminal. So it doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to die tomorrow, I could die tomorrow anyone could die tomorrow. I just have a little bit less time than everyone.
My lungs are at 50% function right now so at this rate the doctor said I will need a transplant by the time I am a junior in high school. That'll be fun."

Then another video: Astrid- "Hi guys, shh, we are at the baby ward because I'm obsessed with babies. And Barb the beautiful Barb is giving me permission to come in here myself now."

And another: Astrid- "Cystic fibrosis as you know is a genetic disease that basically makes my body produce a shit tun of amount of mucus. Fun fact I have to be extremely careful around other people who have CF The rule is we're not supposed to get closer than 6 ft. because we could end up catching each other's bacteria."

Another one: Astrid- "A lot of people don't realise New lungs generally only last about five years, which is okay actually because most of us are trying to stay alive until they find a new cure."

And another one: Astrid- " hi guys just chilling here in my new aflo vest. Which is really cool because now I don't have to be stuck to the wall which obviously I'm not because I'm upside down on my bed. This is actually good for getting the mucus up and stuff. I know cute."

I finish the video I'd do anything to spend more time with her but I be got this feeling that it won't be the last time I see her.
