Sixteen

"I'm so full I don't think I can eat another bite." I said after dinner.

"The cherry pie is done!" My mom shouted from the kitchen.

"Cherry pie?" I asked getting up.

"What happened to you can't eat another bite?" Brianna asked laughing.

"Fuck that. It's cherry pie. I love cherry pie." I said. My mom came out and I was quick to get me some and then eat it in seconds.

"How are you not fat?" Amanda asked.

"I'm a werewolf. I can eat a whole day and barely gain a pound." I said. I went to get more pie but my mom slapped my hands away causing me to yelp in surprise.

"No more pie for you. You've had two pieces already." She said. I grumbled and got up and walked onto the kitchen and started to rummage through the cabinets looking for a snack.

"Bingo." I smiled as I pulled out a box of pop tarts and a box of popcorn. I popped me some popcorn and got me two packages of pop tarts and walked back into the dining room where my dad just shook his head smiling.

"What? I got hungry again." I said in defense. Hayley walked over and snatched a package of my pop tarts and sat back down with a smile.

"You see what Hayley just did? If she wasn't her mate he would have growled at her until she left the room." Allen explained to his mate.

"Shut up Al." I said as I shoved popcorn into my mouth. I sat down next to Hayley and wrapped an arm around her.

"I wanna go watch a movie." Hayley said taking a bite from her pop tart she took from me. I got up and grabbed the snacks and we both walked up the stairs.

Intruder is outside of the pack house.

My eyes flew open and I sat up in bed quickly. It caused Hayley to wake up and look at me curiously. There was an intruder outside of my pack house.

"Come with me baby girl." I whispered and grabbed my bat. I saw Connor walk out rubbing his eyes and look at me and the bat.

"Your wolf ttod you about the intruder too?" He whispered with his mate behind him.

"Yeah. Where's your weapon?" I asked.

"In the kitchen. Your bat that you used to hit that home run senior year? What happened to I'm never using this again?" Connor replied.

"That went out the window the second I found out about the intruder." I whispered. Hayley stayed close to me as we crept down the stairs. Connor was right behind us with his mate close to him. I was in front due to the whole Alpha King thing. I saw the door open from around the corner and two people walk in. I was about to swing when a familiar voice stopped me.

"Hayden, it's just me. Put the fucking bat down." I sighed and dropped the bat after Jack had said that quickly.

"A heads up would be nice you know." I said still holding my bat.

"Sorry. I got lazy." Jack said.

"Yeah and you almost got hit with a bat." I shot back.

"I had to come. For starters I hear little Miss Hayley here went into heat." He said as he tapped Hayley on her cheek. I growled and pulled her to my body.

"Yeah, don't touch her for the rest of the week. He gets that way." Connor said as he pulled his mate his side.

"And I also heard you're the new Alpha King." He smiled.

"Yeah well I'm glad you're all sunshine and rainbows right now but I'm tired." I growled and led Hayley upstairs to our room. Once I closed the door I locked it and immediately pressed a hard kiss to Hayley's lips. Of course she knew what I was wanting and she gave it to me. Another terrific night with my mate.

"Hayden!" My twin's voice entered my mind.

"How did you get in?" I growled.

"Jack still has a key to your room." He said.

"What do you need?" I asked and pulled my mate's warm body to me.

"Ohthe little kids want us to play some games with them. It's one of their birthdays." Connor said. I shot up with a grin and nodded. I love playing with the little kids. I had always had a great bond with the pack kids. He walked out of my room and I quickly got up which startled Hayley.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Going to a party. One of the kids in the pack has a birthday today and wanted my and Connor to play some of their party games with them." I said. I quickly got clothes on and gave Hayley a kiss before I left so she could get ready. I ran downstairs and saw Connor standing in front of a lot of the kids.

"So who's birthday is it?" I asked as I got closer.

"It Mike's." One of the kids said and slightly pushed him forward.

"So what games do you want to play today?" I asked as I picked him up.

"I want to play tag." He cheered.

"You're so going down Connor." I laughed at him.

"We can play tag first." Connor said to Mike.

"Thank you Alpha and Beta." His mom said.

"Don't thank us. We may be in our twenties but we're still children." Connor laughed.

"Now I believe we have a game of tag to play." I said. We walked outside and I gave them the rules before we picked a kid to be it.

"We go easy when they chase us. If you're it then you can try you're hardest to tag me. But if you want to tag a little kid we goes easy since they're younger." I said.

"Like now?" He asked.

"What?" I asked. Then I felt a small hand touch my leg I turned to see Mike.

"You're it Alpha." He giggled before running off. I turned to Connor who was laughing and I ran after him. I tagged him and picked up two little kids and ran off.

"That's cheating Hayden!" Connor laughed.

"It's helping. Not cheating." I said. I set them down and turned to see Connor running after the kid who pushed Mike forward earlier. The door opened and everyone stopped playing when mine and Connor's mates walked out.

"Can we play?" Connor's mate asked.

"Yeah." Mike cheered.

"So who's it?" Hayley asked him.

"Beta Connor." He said and ran behind me. Just like that we resumed the game and played many more until my mother called for lunch. I picked Mile up and put him on my shoulders as we walked into the pack house with Hayley.

"Pack lunch. Alpha Hayden, any announcements?" My mother asked.

"None except wish Mike a happy birthday. He's now," I paused and he leaned down whispering his age to me before I continued, "he's now five." I said and put him on the ground.

"Can I sit with you Alpha?" He asked excitedly.

"Go ask your parents. If they're alright with it then I don't have a problem with it." I smiled. He ran off and my attention went to Hayley.

"You're great with kids." She smiled.

"I can't wait to start our family." I said to her with a smile.
