As Class 1-A stepped onto the field, cheers were heard. They were loud...and obnoxious. After every class was called onto the field, Midnight, the R-rated heroine, silenced everyone and called someone forth.
"Now for the athlete's oath. Will the student representative, Chris from Class 1-A, come to the front."
Chris was somewhat surprised, but not too much. He placed first in the practical exam, so he expected he might be the student representative. There were murmurs about his name from the crowd, but there were murmurs from his classmates about him being the representative.
"Now, I may be the representative of the student body, but that doesn't mean anything. I want everyone to know something important."
Chris paused for a very dramatic effect. When he spoke up again, the other students were roaring.
"The students of Class 1-A...will crush everyone else."
After speaking, Chris walked back to his spot amongst his peers. He may have just caused the other classes to hate on the hero course, but that wasn't the point. The idea was to get everyone to give their all to try and beat the hero course. Soon enough, it wouldn't matter either way.
Midnight then showed a screen with a large amount of changing words on the screen. It appeared to be a sort of roulette.
"The first event will be...an obstacle course! All of the students must compete in a four-kilometer race around the stadium. Racers, to your positions!"
The students lined up at the start of the race. They were prepared to run the large distance.
"Start!!!"
When everyone ran through the entrance, they all got stuck. The path was too narrow for many to get through it at once. Todoroki was the first to get through. He had frozen everyone's feet to the ground, causing them to be stuck in place.
Not many of the quirks Chris had would be of any use. The only ones that could get him to the end were his wings quirk and his shadow quirk. The problem was the lack of shadows over the course and the fact that the wings he had would be associated with Reaper's. He could use his Conceal quirk, but others could still tell that he had wings from the non-fluid movements that he would have from the flap of his wings.
Chris didn't know it, but he was muttering to himself what he was thinking. He also didn't realize that most of the starting gate was cleared by now. When he snapped out of it, Todoroki and Bakugo were already at the second obstacle: The Fall. It was a large chasm that had pillars with ropes connecting them to each other and the other side.
"Lady Luck, would you mind?"
Chris tossed up his coin and caught it this time. He already knew the outcome, that's why he caught it.
"What is your student doing, Eraser?"
"I have no idea, but he is a smart kid."
Chris then went to the remains of the first obstacle; Robo Inferno. There were destroyed robot parts all over the place, but Chris found what he was looking for. Once he grabbed it, he teleported to the person in first. That just so happened to be Shoto. The teen was surprised to see the other there, but then he remembered the latter's quirk.
"Heya! It was nice catching up, but I have to run."
Chris ran ahead of Todoroki and didn't stop. It was only at the final obstacle that he started to hear someone catching up. Chris turned around and saw Todoroki and Bakugo catching up, each using their own methods. Todoroki eventually stopped trying to slow Chris down and started to try and speed up. Bakugo...just flew through the air with his explosions.
