Chapter (4)
The crow continued to anxiously pace, awaiting for the others to awake. Osiris was the first to do so. Stretching and getting to his feet, he grumbled. "You're already awake?" Though Callidus had in fact been awake all night, he simply nodded.
The viper huffed. "Alright, everybody up." He said in a loud voice. With a few whines from Maeve, they were all up within a few minutes. Callidus gulped. He wasn't sure he was ready to fly the Earworm, but he knew he had to be brave.
"Boris, Enya, you guys remember the plan? We stay together." Enya nodded, determination in here eyes. Boris seemed calm. "And you two." Osiris places a comforting hand on Callidus' shoulder. "You can do it." The crow nervously nodded.
"Alright, let's head out." Boris was the first to approach the trap door exit, carefully sliding it open. Popping his head out and looking around, taking wiffs of the air with his sensitive nose, he gave a thumbs up as approval. The five headed out.
Osiris, Enya, And Boris immediately headed to scout the area in search of the others. Callidus and Maeve went right up to the wheel. The crow sighed, calming himself. "Well, let's see just how much of a captain you are, songbird." Maeve teased, but Callidus ignored it.
Slowly, he raised the ship into the air, straight on up. He raised it all the way into the clouds, so that he could follow Osiris, but that Osiris couldn't see him. "Alright, I think we're good now." Callidus said, confidence in his voice. "Cool, cool.." Maeve looked down from the deck.
"We're up pretty high, huh.."
"Just pop your ears if you need to acclimate." Callidus said in a  monochrome tone. Serein has taught him that, along with many other things. "No, I'm fine." The tuxedo cat gulped, taking a seat on the deck's ledge. "You better be. We're gonna be up here for awhile." And they sure were.
Callidus had even stopped keeping lookout, certain that the team was still searching. But atlas, the two heard it; the signal, a whistle from Enya. Callidus immediately jumped to his feet. Time for the next step, bringing the ship down.
He sighed, doing so. "Finally.." Maeve muttered. Callidus suspected she wasn't too keen on heights. "Finally." He repeated.
However, as the crow slowly brought the Earworm down onto the rugged land, he was surprised to see just the three. His heat sank. The Earworm had atlas reached the ground, however, quite roughly, shaking the ground.
Maeve immediately sprinted off of the airship in search of a bush. Callidus also sprinted. Hoping off, he asked in a worried tone. "Well? Where are they?" Enya gulped, scratching her neck. Her ruby eyes shone in the sun, however, filled with sadness.
"Well, aside from all of the bodies.."
"They took them." Boris butted in, unlike his usual temper. "Those bastards took them. They want us to go in search of them so that they can kill off the last few of the rebels, us." The coyote grit his teeth.
"Then that means that they aren't here anymore, right?" Enya asked. "Food!" All attention was turned to Maeve, who had returned from the forestation. "They're gone. We can get food!"
"Hey, and supplies!" Callidus said excitedly. "Good, we're gonna need them. I think I may have a plan already." Osiris spoke.
And so, the five ran off in search of food and supplies, bringing as much back to the Earworm as they could. It turned out to be quite a lot.
