I hobbled down to the elevator and got myself to medical as fast as I could.

I was quickly put on a bed and wheeled into a private room with two nurses and my doctor, Dr. Franzen.

"Luna, where is the Alpha?" she asked me.

"In the shower, who cares?! Listen to me," I shouted, the pain from another contraction hitting. She leaned closer and I looked desperately into her eyes.

"Please don't let him in here," I begged.

"I-I don't know if I can-" she stuttered, then shook her head.

"Luna, we need to focus on your epidural and prepping you for the birth." she said calmly.

I threw my head back and let out a sharp breath, this baby was coming and it was coming fast.

I was heartbroken. I should be holding Dylan's hand, but instead I'd found something I'd never wanted to see.

After they gave me the epidural, they laid me back down in the bed, at which point Dylan came running through the door, wearing a grey sweatshirt and his black joggers, hair slick and wet.

"Quincy," he rushed to my side and grabbed my hand softly. I smacked his away and grabbed his collar while the nurses poked around.

"Who the hell is Iris?" I growled.

"What?" he looked surprised and confused.

"She kept texting you while you were in the shower, don't act fucking dumb, Dylan!" I shouted, releasing his sweatshirt and pushing him away.

"Quincy, Iris is one of my new office interns. She was texting me because I asked her to pick up a gift for you," he said, eyebrows raised almost as if to ask if I was happy now.

"Do you think I'm stupid, why the hell is she talking about my pregnancy with you?" I yelled, cringing through another contraction.

"Trust me Quincy, I'll show you everything when our son is born, just believe me until I can give you your surprise." he rubbed my hand calmly.

"I swear if you make me look stupid, Dylan," I muttered.

"Oh, you're gonna look stupid. But not for the reason you think," he chuckled and I scowled at him.

"We're ready for you to start pushing, Luna," Dr. Franzen smiled softly at me.

I thanked the moon goddess and pushed, trying to get this baby out of me with everything I had.

Dylan held my hand and brushed my hair out of my face with his hands, staring at me lovingly even though I had just screamed at him.

I looked at the ceiling and caught my breath; I had to take a break.

After several repetitions, Dylan kissed my cheek.

"You got it, baby." He gave my hand a squeeze before I gave his a much tighter squeeze, and I knew it would be the final push.

The nurse stood up holding our little bundle of joy and all I wanted was to kiss his soft head.

Dylan got to cut the umbilical cord, then the nurses gave him his first bath and brought him back out to us, swaddled in a soft blue blanket.

"Congratulations, Mom and Dad!" she smiled, handing him to me.

His half-shut eyes were deep blue, and he had a little bit of brunette fuzz covering his head. His skin was still a little red, but soft.

"He's perfect, Dylan." I said, handing him over for Dylan to hold.

"Of course he is. We made him," he smiled and rocked our son back and forth lovingly.

"I'm so proud of you." he kissed my forehead the best he could without disturbing the baby.

"He definitely looks like a Carter."

"He does. We're parents, babe." I said, thinking about how crazy it all was. we'd met over a year ago, I was pregnant on our anniversary. Now we had a son and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Except an explanation on why he was texting this Iris girl.

"Well, Carter's here and you said you would show me everything, so?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, come on Quincy, you literally just gave birth. Don't you trust me?" he asked.

I did trust him. But the evidence was hard not to question.

"Fine. But as soon as I get out of here I want to see it all, whatever it is." I huffed.

"You will, sweet mate." he gently put the baby back into my arms.

The doctors kept us overnight to make sure everything was smooth, and we were allowed to leave the next day.

We brought Carter to his nursery and put him down for a nap before closing the door gently.

"Time's up, show me," I poked Dylan in the chest. He chuckled and lifted me off of my feet into his arms and I couldn't help but gasp.

"Okay, sweetheart." he carried me to the elevator and then let me down, pressing the first floor button.

When we approached the front entrance, Dylan turned to me and took a breath.

"I used your maternity leave money... and some of my own, to get you something that you really deserve." he smiled, and then pushed open the door.

It was the car

It was the car. The one I asked for a job to save up for, it was right in front of me.

"Dylan, you- you can't, why did you do that?" I asked in shock.

"I totaled the ferrari, you should probably drive for a while. It's your push-gift." he smiled.

A small she-wolf handed me the key, and Dylan cleared his throat.

"This is Iris, one of my new interns, Quincy." he said calmly.

"It's so great to meet you, Luna. Congratulations on your new baby!" she gave me a warm smile.

And boy did I want to run myself over with that car right then and there. But at least I felt relieved about Dylan going behind my back.

"Thank you so much," I said, running my hand through my hair still staring in disbelief at the car.

"And the best part is," he took my hand and led me around the car.

In the back, there was a little matching car seat.
