VIC'S POV

Listening to Lindsay read was the most calming thing I've ever heard. It was also quite cute, because she used an English accent as she read. I guess that's how she read it in her head, but none the less, her accent was pretty believable.

I listened to her read, staring out at the lake for hours, not realizing that the sun was starting to set. I didn't want her to stop, but I really wanted to be getting home. Suddenly, Lindsay stopped reading.

"Can we go night swimming?" she asked.

"Uh, I kinda wanted to stay in tonight, cuddle on the couch...watch a movie. You know. Simple stuff."

"Oh...alright. I'm cool with that."

"We can go swimming tomorrow, I promise. But for now, let's just go home." We both got up and started packing up all the empty containers of all the food that we ate. Looking at all the empty containers, I couldn't help but feel really fat. I hadn't eaten that much in years, and I knew it was going to ruin my diet. I knew I was going to have to go for an extra long run tomorrow. After the stuff was packed up, I picked up the basket, immediately grabbed her hand, and we walked home.

Once home, I kicked off my shoes, and jumped onto the couch. Lindsay, however, took a calmer approach. She went into the bedroom, and in a few minutes came back out in a simple light green tank top and super short pajama shorts. I watched her go to the fridge and open it. She bent down to grab a soda, and I really couldn't help but eye her over and smirk. I quickly looked back at the tv as she turned around and closed the fridge. Lindsay came around the other side of the couch and sat down next to me, sitting Indian style, drinking her soda as I looked through the on-demand movies.

"Oh no way!" Lindsay gasped and sat up straighter, fascinated by something she must've seen on the tv.

"Oh my god, what?"

"Nothing, I just saw a movie that I really love." Lindsay slouched back down, all hope of watching that one movie gone.

"What movie was it? We can watch it if you want!"

"No, really, it's okay. You wouldn't want to watch it anways, it's like a sappy romance movie."

"I'll watch it if you wanna watch it. What was the name of it?" I started flipping through all the on-demand channels, even though I didn't know which movie it was.

"You just went past it," Lindsay said as she pointed at the tv.

"This one?" I said as I moved one channel up. "The Art of Getting By?"

"Oh my goodness, such a good movie."

I clicked on the movie, accepted the payment, and we started watching it. "So who's in this movie, anyways?"

"Freddie Highmore and Emma Roberts." Lindsay situated herself more comfortably on the couch and stared intently at the tv.

"Oh, nice. Now come here and cuddle with me, silly." I sat with my back against the arm of the couch, holding my arms out, signaling for her to come cuddle me. Sadly, she didn't budge.

"But the movieeeee," Lindsay kept staring at the tv.

"Well fine..." I sat back in my original position, one foot up on the couch, the other dangling. I was kind of annoyed at the fact that Lindsay wanted to watch the movie more than she wanted to cuddle. I felt like the movie was more important to her than I was. I decided to watch the movie instead of making a big fuss over it. And soon enough, I was interested in the movie too. I couldn't take my eyes away, I had to know what happened next. And then I realized why Lindsay didn't cuddle with me.
