Equinox
The Yin-Yang Tenno. The Day Tenno. The Night Tenno. The Twin Tenno. The Eclipse Tenno. The Sisters Tenno. The Balance Tenno.
Split between day and night, Equinox manifests aggressive and defensive forms at will.
Originally two twin sisters, whose place of origins and real names have been lost to history, were identical in everything but their personalities.
The younger sister of the night, codename Nychta, is shy, polite, and somewhat timid.
The older sister of the day, codename Imera, is brash, vulgar, and brazen.
The duo belonged to a middle-class family with their mother, father, and an older brother who had the luck of being picked for the Emperor's Grand Parade in order to show off the working class when the Zariman Ten Zero's incident occur exposing the entire family to the void. So united in their fear were the sisters that the void merged their bodies into one entity.
When the rescue crews found them, their older brother had just succumbed to the wounds he received while defending his still frighten sisters from a void creature attack, the body of a large creature freshly dead laying next to him along with a broken pipe covered in its blood.
It is not known what happened to their parents, the most likely scenario is that they were turned into creatures driven crazy by the void or were executed by the Orokin to hide the evidence of the true purpose of the ship.
It is well known among the Tenno that Equinox can split from their originating stance of being a combined Tenno, (or a secondary state when one is awake while the other is dormant) into both Imera and Nychta separately but cannot maintain this process for extreme lengths of time before they are forced to become one again. This process is shortening the further away they get from one another though it has been recorded that if within a general area of each other, like while onboard the Orbiter, the two can go up to six hours being apart. Also, it should be noted that it is rare for both of them to be asleep at the same time. Usually, one is always awake while the other sleeps.
Both sisters share a symbiotic and telepathic connection when apart. If one is in pain the other feel it no matter what obstacles lays between them. It is paramount to note that even on solo missions, Equinox is never truly alone.
The problem with Equinox being a fusion of two bodies that arises ever so often is that this causes them to suffer double personality and sudden mood swings from time to time. While in their combined form, they're quiet and submissive one moment, the next they are loud and domineering. This makes many of the Tenno avoid working with them unless absolutely necessary as well as made me have to assign Equinox to therapy sessions with Baruuk whenever he is on the Orbiter to control their personalities with Trinity being a secondary therapist for them when he is not available.
Equinox is an army of two, capable of being both on the offense and the defense simultaneously.
Imera's personal record:
Imera is a master of the overly aggressive attack, taking the fight to her enemies no matter their numbers. Grineer General Sargas Ruk found this out the hard way when he was forced to sacrifice three entire companies of Grineer Marines in order to cover his escape from his capital ship when Imera descend upon him in a failed assassination attempt while Nyctha slept. He was the only survivor.
Surprisingly shares a good relationship with Valkyr, Khora, and Garuda of all people when her younger sister is asleep or in another part of the ship, no doubt because of their shared tendencies to use overly violent methods on missions.
Had to be physically restrained from picking a fight with Rhino after the latter accidental bump into her in the hallway, even after he apologizes for it.
Technically, she holds the sixteenth spot for the most kills.
Nychta's personal record:
Was able to hold out against three companies worth of Corpus' forces on her own thanks to her defensive abilities just long enough for Imera to circle around the opposing forces and hit them from behind. This force the entire assault unit to retreat when they found themselves between a hammer and an anvil.
When separated from her older sister, Nychta has a tendency to socialize with Octavia and Banshee as all three of them share the love of listening to soft music while reading.
She was able to physically restrain Imera from picking a fight with Rhino long enough for Excalibur and myself to arrive on the scene and defuse the situation.
Despite her timid personalities, technically, she currently occupies the thirtieth position for the kill count tally among the Tenno.
Equinox's Personal Record:
An anomaly even among the Tenno, Equinox always takes to the field with dual weaponry, usually seen sporting Akelx, Dual Cestra, and a Dual Skana for melee. Whenever they split apart, each sister takes one of each weapon with them.
Due to multiple complaints from the more battle-hungry Tenno, Equinox's kill count is a combination of both Imera and Nychta's personal records combine into one and divide by two, placing the Ying-Yang Tenno in the twentieth-third spot for kill count. If not for this ruling, they would have the tenth highest kills among the Tenno.
Multiple Tenno have heard the sisters in their combine Equinox form arguing with one another, their voices changing in the midst of it. Due to this, team missions with other Tenno are a rarity for them.
Special Note:
Consequently, the two of them have a unique mission that has only ever been accomplished by Excalibur. In the midst of a mission in the ancient ruins of New York City, Equinox was pinned down by heavy Grineer forces. When reinforcements were requested, it was the Dragon Tenno himself that answered the call seeing how he was the closest.
This is Equinox, a deadly duality.
A true Tenno must master the divide between night and day. Do you have what it takes?
