Tao sat at the dining table with a bowl of soggy cereal and a toddler sitting on a high chair beside him. He reluctantly scooped up a spoonful of sloppy cereal and held it up to his darling daughter's rose-bud mouth.
Why did his beautiful wife have to go out for the day to go shopping with her friends? And without him? Well, he admitted that someone did have to look after their daughter, but it still wasn't quite fair. They were shopping for Gucci. His favourite brand of all time.
Kris was going. Because his dear wife Madi was going with Leia, and Kris was married to Leia. Tao was married to Madi, right? That was practically the reason why Tao even called her his wife (other than the fact that it had been his dream for about 3 years). So why couldn't he go?
Because they had Victoria, Tao's little bundle of joy, but also the exact reason of his current consternation. He had to look after her. It was his turn.
It wasn't like Leia didn't have kids. In fact, they had 2. Yet Kris didn't have to stay home to look after their kids. Maybe I could hand Victoria to my parents for a while like Leia and Kris do, Tao thought.
Victoria blinked at him. Tao cooed inwardly.
'Eat up, Vicky,' Tao mumbled as his daughter stared at the spoonful of glop suspiciously for a while. She finally opened her mouth and ate up the cereal but then bit into the spoon. Tao raised his eyebrows and tried to pry his daughter's teeth from the metal with not much success.
'Careless, careless, shoot anonymous, shoot anonymous,' Tao began and Victoria immediately let go, sitting back in her high chair and regarding him with wide eyes. A small sob escaped her lips.
'Wow. Is my singing that bad?' Tao mused as he lifted Victoria out of the highchair and into his lap, stroking her hair. 'Darling, I'm sorry for singing. I didn't know you hated it that much.'
Victoria narrowed her eyes at her father balefully as if to say, 'yeah right, as if this was the first time'. Tao looked away guiltily.
'Fine. If you hate my singing, you'll like my rapping.' And with that, Tao began rapping with great enthusiasm. Victoria watched her father curiously, moving her head from side to side.
'Dou wang le shen me shi hou, kai shi wo men bei guan zai cong ming li tou (EXO-M MAMA lyrics),' Tao rapped, making hand gestures to which Victoria giggled at. Tao glowered a little, unappreciative of the fact that his daughter was unknowingly scorning him. He turned on MAMA on his iPod to accompany him.
Gai bian jiu neng jie da, gai bian jiu neng dao da, gao su wo MAMA MAMA.
'MAMA, MAMA.'
Tao's jaw dropped. Did his daughter just sing part of MAMA? Even though it was just two words. Tao smiled in glee and replayed the chorus for Victoria.
'MAMA,' Victoria said again.
'Wow, baby girl, you're so smart, just like your mother,' Tao murmured, grinning.
'MAMA!'
'Yup. Let's try the rest of the sentence. 'Gai bian,' he enunciated slowly.
'MAMA!' There was a hint of distress in Victoria's voice.
'Don't strain your lovely voice, Vic.'
'MAMA!' Victoria hit record decibels in volume.
Tao clapped his hands over his ears.
The door rattled and there was a sound of the door unlocking. Then his wife came to the rescue.
'Oh Victoria, my dear baby, what has daddy done to you? Oh ew. You've been feeding her some gross stuff.' Madison remarked as she hitched Victoria onto her hip.
'I thought babies liked that stuff!' Tao protested.
'Well obviously they don't. Victoria sounds like she's been screaming her lungs out at you. How did you not notice?'
'She's been rapping. There's a difference between screaming and rapping.'
'Really? Rapping what?'
'MAMA.' Tao stated proudly.
Madison gave him an amused look. 'Are you sure she wasn't just calling for me?'
Tao frowned. He hadn't thought of that. 'I think not.'
'Sure. Baby,' Madison cooed to their daughter, 'rap MAMA for me.'
Tao switched the music on. 'MAMA!' Victoria screamed, crying.
'Ahh... Actually... Maybe she was calling for you,' Tao admitted sheepishly.
'I think so too. That wasn't charming enough to be rapping... Though she may have just been bad at it. She's hungry, Tao. The slop you've been feeding her is not the equivalent to true food. So for torturing our poor darling like that, I've going to keep the Gucci bag I bought for you today.'
Tao's eyes widened. 'NO WHAT WHY? NONONO. PLEASE DON'T.'
Madison ignored him in favour of playing with Victoria.
'MAMA, MAMA. PLEASE MAMA. You're a wonderful eomma. Just don't take away my Gucci.'
She didn't seem to show any sign of giving his Gucci to him. 'I'm sorry, Madi. I really am. I didn't mean to feed Vic gross gloop. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.'
Madison winced. 'Your singing is even less appealing. Go get your Gucci, as long as you don't keep singing. Don't rap MAMA either. I might confiscate ALL your Gucci if you do.'
Tao cheered and grabbed the shopping bag. 'It looks amazing,' he said, grinning manically.
'MAMA,' Victoria said, smiling cutely. Madison shook her head at her. 'Don't you start rapping either, missy.'
Done. Hope you liked it! Vote and comment! Thanks everyone! ~Dancing
