She seemed uncomfortable in her own skin, it was sad but I realized I could use it to my advantage. I cleared my throat and stepped into the room. She had her blinds wide open, sunlight shining over her face which held multiple bandaids.

"Cassidy?"
She sent a look my way, it looked close to relief, "Hey-" she cut herself short, casting a worried look at Ohm who stood next to me. I sighed, looking up at Ohm, tugging at his sleeve, "Could you please give us some time?"
His jaw tensed, "You sure?"
I sent his a small smirk, "Look in our party inventory. I think i can handle myself thank you."
Ohm sighed and reluctantly left us alone, closing the door softly behind him. I crossed my arms, "So, you willing to talk now?"

Cassidy brushed a strand of hair from her face, "Depends."
I scoffed, "You are in NO place to negotiate. Also from what I understand, we havent turned you into Lester. We could do that and leave you to their devices."
She frowned and looked out the window, "You are just like the others..."

I cocked an eyebrow, "Really now?"
She nodded, crossing her legs together on her bed, "They just demanded everything. Just being rude."
I snickered at the thought of the guys being rude, "They arent like that at all,"
The blonde scoffed, "Waow you are dumb if you think they are nice."
I sat on the edge of her bed, "They are... They are just scared."
Her eyes softened, "Really?"
I nodded, "You gave us all the scare. I mean, being stuck in this game is scary enough as it is. Then when your mission includes saving another AI, who turns out to be an actual player? Yea, we dont know who you are and what you could amount to be. The others think you are set up by the game dev."
She became silent, something masking her emotions. I frowned, standing up and wondering to her large window. "Like your view?" I asked, my fingers fumbling with the drapes.

A soft smile spread across her face, "Yea... I didn't have a view at the company building..."
I nodded, "It must have sucked being stuck there for so long..."
Fall for it
Fall for it
Fall for it
Cassidy started tearing up, "Yea- it was horrible."
I nodded and leaned against the footboard of her bed, "How long have you been stuck there?"
"Since the start... I-I wasn't a game dev, they are dicks. I was actually a beta player, the only one to actually find the AI Lester."
I nodded and didn't interrupt as she told her story, "It was just all a trap." Cassidy started crying harder, "Once I busted into the building they took me. I tried to exit the game but they wouldn't let me. Game devs disabled everything, my menu, my weapons. Everything. They just needed someone to play the part."
I straightened up, my eyes widening, Could she be a trap?
"They didn't tell me my purpose. Just roughed me up and left me alone. You guys are the first real players I have seen since- wait... How long since the game started?"
I furrowed my brow, "Almost 4 months..."
She sighed, "Ive been here almost 6 months..."
Nodding, I made my way to the door, "Cassidy, thank you for opening up. I'll talk to the boys about letting you out of here. Penthouse privileges I guess."

Her hazel eyes searched me, she seemed to give up on a mental war as she nodded, "Yea, okay..."
.
.
I shut the door behind me, it's soft click alerted Ohm who seemed half asleep as he leaned against the wall, "Huh- Oh, hey Blue."
I sent him a crooked smile, "Hey Ohmie."
"Find anything out?" He asked, running a hand through his hair.
I let out an uneven sigh, "Y-yea. One sec." Quickly, I strode into the livingroom. I found Evan sitting at the couch next to Moo and Bryan, "Hey Evan," I went behind him and held his shoulders, stooping down to whisper in his ear, "Can we all have meeting? I don't want to have to repeat what Cassidy told me 20+ times."
He nodded, standing up, "Get everyone else, meeting in less than 5 minutes."

Nogla sighed, "You want us to what now?"
I sighed, "Come on, maybe the more comfortable we make her, the more comfortable she will be. Most likely if she is comfortable, she will spill more details."
Evan leaned back in his seat, "And if this is a trap?"
"Then-" I paused, thinking about my next words, "-you can blame me..."
Luke exhaustedly held his head up, looking to Evan, "I think she has a point about Cassidy."
"Fine, fine... We will let her out but under supervision."
I smiled, "Thank you..."
Evan softly smiled back but quickly covered it, not wanting the others to notice.
"Blue, could you give us all a moment?"
My heart panged, what did they want to talk about that I couldnt hear? Did I do something wrong?
I clasped my hands, standing from my seat, "Of course, I'll see you boys later."
And with that, I left the room, softly shutting the door behind me.
