Winters Storm~Bucky Barns~

Chapter 27:

~One year later/Blue's POV~

"I feel as if I'm totally unrecognizable. I mean will he even know it's me?"I tell Wanda. "You look beautiful Blue." I nod as I turn back to the mirror, my eyes pop due to the darker makeup look, the white color of the dress helps bring a nice contrast to my hair. All and all I look....beautiful. I have never been one to see myself as a beautiful person but today....today is very different.

     "Is she nearly ready?"Okoye asks as she and Shuri walk into the room. The anxious feeling rises in the pit of my stomach. I mean I know this is what I want, I have known this for a long time but now that it's happening...I don't know what to do. "Blue? Are you okay?"Shuri. "What yeah I'm.....I'm freaking out." The girls just kinda look around at one another then back to me.

     "I know this is what I want, but I don't know now that it's happening the thought of my whole life changing.....it kinda freaks me out." Suddenly Okoye steps out from the corner and kneels down in front of me. "Blue, you are one of the strongest people I have ever met, you fought Thanos toe to toe and never showed an ounce of fear. Now you are faced with something like this and you are panicking?  You are a warrior, you are brave. If this is what you know you want then go be a warrior and walk out there. Be brave."

       I nod my head, "you're right."I tell her. My eyes jump around the room. "Let's do this thing ladies." They all cheer as I gather myself and walk out of the room. "Ready for this?"Steve asks as I wrap my arm around his. "Are you kidding me this is the best decision I ever made, of course I'm ready." He gives a warm smile just as the music starts playing. I clutch my roses tightly as we make our way up the path on the mountain side.

       He stands tall and proud as we approach. I see small glistening tear drops slide down his cheeks the moment he sees me. Somehow I manage to keep myself together but barely. "She's all yours Buck."Steve says as he gently hands me over to him. "You look gorgeous."Bucky whispers. "Really? I feel kinda like a freak in all this."I joke. He chuckles a little as we continue on with the service.

     After a while the best part came along. "I, James Bucanan Barns, vow to love you always, not just through sickness and health but through every fight and rough night, through every hard time, through every moment of joy. I vow to keep you safe from harm with no hesitation. You are my world and I'm not letting anything ruin that. I vow that on your bad days I will be the shoulder to cry on, the arms that hold you tight. I vow to never let you feel as if you are alone in this world and to love you always and forever."

"I, Sapphire, vow to love you through everything, good times and bad. I vow to never stop loving you even if the world stops turning. I vow to always appreciate your weird and goofy side on the small occasions that you show it. I vow to hold you close after every bad dream, argument, anything bad because that's what you do when you love someone a fraction as much as I love you. Finally I vow to always love you more than anything in this world because you are my world too."

"I now pronounce you man and wife, you may now kiss your bride." This huge smile falls on Bucky's face as he pulls me in and kisses me. It's so soft and tender that I feel like I am melting like butter. Everything I have ever fought for, every time I ever questioned if I was okay or if I was going to make it, everything in my life has lead me to this moment and I have to say this is the best most sweetest thing to ever have happened.

Glasses gently clang together grasping our attention. Slowly Pepper stands from her table, champagne in hand as she turns to the two of us. "Bucky, Blue, I may not know you two very well but I feel as if maybe I should be the one to say this. I know tonight everyone is in your face congratulating you, telling you how cute you guys are, and I'm not here to do that. While they maybe true about how cute you are I feel as if I should give a word of advice. Marriage is hard, sometimes you will question why you ever went through with it. You will ask yourself where you went wrong, why is the other the way they are. Trust me I should know I was married to one of the most stubborn men on earth. But just know that even when it's hard, there was a reason you chose each other. You two are truly meant for one another. You have been through thick and thin together. Yes, life will get hard but I have total faith in you two. I know in my heart you guys will be perfectly okay because you will always love each other through it."

A smile appears on my face as I turn to my husband. "Congratulations to the happy couple!"She concludes her toast. Everyone cheers before we sip our drinks. Bucky grasps my hand making me turn and look at him. His eyes show happiness,warmth, and love when I look into them. "You want to know something?" He asks. "Sure." "I love you always and forever." "I love you always and forever, my soldier."
