collide, 5.

it had been two days since mattia and kairi kissed. no one knew and the two still weren't on great terms. for a little, kairi felt used. he was in a fragile state, but so was mattia. it was confusing and he wasn't sure what they were. they made small talk in the hall ways, but as soon as any of there friends came around, it went back to hating each other.

the two had stayed after school again to finally take their test. it took both of them an abnormally long time to take the test. kairi kept spacing out and mattia kept getting distracted. he found himself staring at kairi. the smaller boy would make eye contact with him, but quickly look away. here and there they would lock eyes and try there hardest not to laugh. thankfully though, they finished the test.

"thank you boys, have a good night." their teacher smiled and let the two out. they walked quietly down the empty halls together until mattia pulled kairi into the gym. the lights were off and the echo of their footsteps filled their ears.

"mattia what are you doing." the smaller boy asked. he didn't like sneaking around. "apologizing, for real this time."

"in a dark school gym?" kairi gave mattia a pathetic look. "come on kairi, it's like.. romantic."

"you have a mess up version of romantic, but carry on."

mattia walked into a small storage room and came out with a soccer ball. "if you're gonna apologize by kicking that ball at my face, im not excepting." kairi laughed. "no, my god." the taller boy roll his eyes.

"sit," he spoke sitting down a few feet away. kairi sat next to him and waited. "ok remember freshman year, soccer tryouts."

"what about it?"

"i told you that if i made a goal on my first try i'd marry you one day."

"ya, you were dumb. but funny." kairi smiled.

"ok, anyways, i made the goal. i made it again in sophomore year too. but i didn't this year, i guess we forgot."

"and your point?"

"if i make this shot," mattia pointed to a goal across the gym, "i get to take you out and we get to start over. because kairi, im so sorry. i think apart of me was scared. i've always liked you since the day we met. but when you finally said it, it made me feel.. i don't know. i just,"

"mattia stop. i get it," kairi interrupted, "i get the fear. now get off your ass and make the goal."

the two laughed and mattia stood. he dropped the ball to the ground and kicked. to both of the boys surprise, it missed. the ball hit the edge of the goal and rolled back towards them. before mattia could do anything kairi ran towards the ball. he kick it himself, making it. "and he scores!" he yells.

"mattia polibio for the win! it was done completely by himself with no help what so ever. what an amazing shot!" kairi ran towards mattia, his hands out. he gave mattia a double high-five and laughed. "thanks for making me feel like an amazing soccer player." mattia rolled his eyes.

"you're the best player. did you see how the ball magically made it into the goal after missing. only true players can do that."

"ya ya, come here." mattia pulled kairi into a kiss, grabbing his hips and holding on tight. "lets get out of here."

kairi smiled and grabbed his back pack from off the ground, "can we get food? i'm starving."

"anything for you fatty."

"dickhead." kairi stood, offended.

"cunt."

"crackwhore."

"i don't do drugs and sleep around shorty, that ain't my thing." mattia threw his arms up in defense. "that's what a crackwhore would say."

"do you even know what a crackwhore is kai?"

"yes."

"what is it then mister genius?" mattia held the door for kairi, making sure no teacher saw them leaving the gym. "i don't know.." kairi said sadly.

"you're to innocent kid. don't worry, im gonna fix that." mattia wrapped his arm around kairi and the two left.

mattia drove kairi home since he didn't have a ride and before letting kairi leave his car he left him with a few words.

"remember what i said?"

kairi looked at him puzzled.

"im gonna marry you kai."
