valentines day, 10.

"we kissed!" alejandro yelled into the phone as he slammed his car door shut. "her lips are so soft. mattia do you know what they tasted like?"

"you can leave out the details man.." mattia rolled his eyes. "like cake! you know how awesome that is. cake mattia."

"yes ale, cake is amazing."

"im so happy you met her. she's perfect mattia. like, perfect." alejandro put his phone on speaker and pulled out of the parking lot. he had just left his third date with kylie. "why aren't you taking her home though?" mattia asked on the other end of the phone. alejandro explained how her friends were picking her up and mattia instantly started laughing. "she's totally gonna talk about you, you know? you better hope your lips didn't taste like ass."

"don't say that." alejandro frowned. "did they though," he paused, "oh my god they totally did!"

"dude calm down, they didn't. anyways, before you crash your damn car i'm gonna hang up. i gotta get ready to pick up kai."

"oh shit that's right, y'all are doing something for valentine's day. bye." alejandro hung up and mattia quickly got in the shower. he was supposed to meet kairi in an hour.

eventually mattia was on his way, his hair still dripping wet. he got to kairi's to find the boy sitting on the front step of his door. he got into mattia's car,  shivering.

"kairi is freezing outside, why weren't you waiting inside."

"i wanted to see you," kairi smiled.

"you're so stupid, you know that?" mattia kissed kairi's forehead before pulling out of the driveway. "where are we going?" the smaller boy asked. mattia smiled, "you'll see."

eventually mattia pulled into their school parking lot. a confused look formed on kairi's face. "you brought me to school?" kairi gave a judgmental look. "calm down." mattia frowned.

he walked kairi to the soccer field. there was a blanket and a small present sitting on the bleachers. mattia brought kairi to the top row, all the way to the right. "the first place we met. you were to scared to sit at the very edge so i switched spots with you."

kairi blushed, "and then you tripped backwards and fell onto alejandro." kairi laughed, "i love you." he pulled mattia into a hug. the two sat down and kairi instantly covered himself in a blanket.

"open it." mattia handed kairi a baby pink bag, with red tissue paper peaking out of it. kairi opened in, pulling out a small box. inside was a gold chain that had the date they met printed into a small gold bar. the other side read, bestfriends.

"that's the most cheesiest, yet cutest thing i've ever seen." kairi smiled. he hugged mattia again. "one more thing," kairi paused.

"ya?" mattia asked.

"this was the cutest idea ever, but i can't feel my toes or my fingers.. can we back to your car?"

"ya neither can i," mattia laughed, "come on." the taller boy helped kairi up and they walked back the car.

"mattia," kairi looked up, "i love you. like, for real. thank you."

"i love you two kai," mattia kissed the smaller boys soft lips.

he wouldn't trade kairi for the world.

here's a short, much delayed filler. i kept on writing a chapter and it wouldn't save so i was getting a little pissed 🤭 anyways, hope you guys are doing well. you're all the sweetest 🥺
