Josh's POV
"I don't want to hear excuses. I want her found NOW!" I yelled profusely at the men before me. My anger and frustration were boiling inside me ready to come out in every way possible.
Four of Alpha Paul's men stood in his office to talk strategy. Nathan wasn't present since he was out leading a search party.
Mina was missing and there was no trace as to her whereabouts. It had been hours since we found the car on the side of the road.
When she didn't arrive on time for the party I had started to get worried but had given it more time before my instincts were telling me something was wrong. I shifted then and there and ran down the road, tracing the path back to the house until I found them.
What I found shook me to the core.
The car was completely totaled on the side of the road, the front end wrapped around a tree. The front windshield was shattered and the front right wheel was three feet away. I had looked into the car and found only Michael, who was unconscious in the driver's seat. Mina was nowhere to be found.
"We've got everyone out looking," Paul reassured me. He sat calmly behind his desk. His calm demeanor only ignited my rage more. I felt like I was about to jump out of my skin both figuratively and literally.
"That's not good enough!" I snapped, banging my fist on the mahogany desk. I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I get it," he said placing a gentle hand on my shoulder.
But he didn't, not really. Mina was his daughter but she was my mate and the fear that I may never see her again was tearing my guts out.
"What do we know so far?" Alpha Paul asked the other men in the room.
"Not much. The person who took her left behind an unknown smell that was untraceable which means that they transported her to a different car," an older man spoke up. I never caught his name or rank but I recognized him as one of the men Paul brought with him to visit my father. "Michael still doesn't remember much about the wolf that jumped in front of the car, so that's a dead end."
"We're searching the area, including the territory perimeter, and into the rouge lands. Most of the other Alphas have extended aide in our search," a different man spoke up this time rattling off what we already knew.
"We need results. It's been too long. I want my daughter found," Paul barked at the men in his alpha voice, which caused all the men to bow their heads. I was the only one who didn't. "Everyone get out. Now!"
All the men scrambled out of the room as quickly as possible.
"I'm going to join the search. I can't just sit here," I informed Paul.
"Go, I'll be out there soon myself. I just need to see to a few more things here."
I barely waited for him to finish his sentence before I walked out of his office. I followed the long hallway to the kitchen and out the backdoor.
I had just made it to the edge of the yard when my cellphone rang. For a moment, I considered ignoring but I quickly realized it might be important.
"Hello," I said, a little impatiently.
"Josh, what is going on?" my sister asked, sounding panicked. "Alpha Paul just got off the phone with dad and said that Mina is missing."
"Look, Courtney, I don't have time for this. I need to go look for her," I said slightly irritated.
"Is there anything you want me to do on my end?" she asked.
"There's not much you can do," I said, knowing that wasn't what she wanted to hear. "I'll call you when we find her."
