Around five I decided that I would go to the gym, but I had to take Harry's rental car as mine was still at my parents house. I also assumed that Harry would still be sleeping when I got back around eight, but I assumed wrong.
When I entered my apartment I was greeted by the smell of apple-cinnamon pancakes, and a shirtless Harry cooking in the kitchen.
"What's all this?"
Harry jumped, startled from my unannounced presence.
"I thought that you'd be hungry when you got back, so I made breakfast." He was smiling like a dork.
"Aw thank you Harry,"
He handed me a plate of pancakes and syrup, as well as grabbing one for himself. We sat down at the kitchen table.
"So, any plans for today?"
"Not really, I think that I'm just gonna hang around here and have a lazy day." I shrugged.
"Sounds perfect to me,"
"Who said I was inviting you, Harold?"
"Well, considering I'm the only one with a vehicle here right now, so if I leave you have no way of getting your car,"
"Touche, Harold."
We spent the day watching old disney movies, but at some point we find ourselves bored and decided to play 20 questions.
"Okay, okay, real talk Harold." I took a bit of the chinese takeout we ordered for lunch, "Have you ever had a crush on me?"
Harry groaned, "Really Bella? This is what you ask?"
I thought my question was hilarious, and in our many years of friendship we never talked about if there was ever any unspoken feelings between us.
"I'm waiting for an answer Harry,"
"Fine," Harry sighed, "I did, for a long time actually. I just never told you because I didn't want to ruin the friendship I guess,"
My eyes widened, that was not what I thought his answer was going to be.
"Define a long time,"
"Like, on and off when we were teenagers, last time I was up here too, I think." He shrugged.
"Are you joking?" He had to be kidding, there's no way that he would have not told me if it really was for that long.
"Nope, all true. What about you? Did you ever like me?"
I made fake gagging noises, "Ew Harry, why would I ever like an old man,"
Harry rolled his eyes and put his takeout container down. "Never?'
"I mean, I probably thought you were cute a couple times but I don't think that I could ever date you, I'd be too scared to ruin our friendship,"
I was hoping that he would drop the subject soon, because the truth was I did have feelings for him, currently. I didn't want to tell him because number one, he wouldn't like me back and number two, I think it'd be really awkward. I also didn't think that I was ready for a relationship after Michael. I was still healing from that.
"Interesting,"
Harry was about to say something else when my phone rang, I got up from the sofa and grabbed it from the kitchen table.
"Hello?"
"Hi there, is this Isabella Anderson?"
"Yes it is,"
