Lindel was the first to wake up. He continues to lay on his side and play with her hair.
Humming softly fills the air and the girl smiles in her sleep.
It was as if she could hear it in her dreams.
Slowly her eyes open and she looks up at her blonde friend.
He smiles down at her. "Did you sleep well darling?"
(Y/n) nods and rubs her belly. "Yeah. I feel a little better now."
"We should tell Eilas as soon as possible. We need to prepare for the worst."
The (h/c) girl frowns and looks at her belly. "I'm gonna have a boy and girl. Echo I don't wanna die."
"Sweetheart we are gonna do everything we can to make sure you and the twins both survive."
She takes a deep breath and nods.
Lindel gets out of the bed and helps (Y/n) stand.
They walk downstairs and to the kitchen.
Silver smiles at them and sets food down.
"Thank you Silver." The two say in unison.
Everyone laughs softly then starts to eat.
"I see you two are finally awake. I must admit I was surprised and jealous to see you sleeping with my fiancé Lindel." Elias informs from the doorway.
The mother to be looks at her future husband and bites her lip.
Lindel rubs her hand and nods.
Elias looks between the two. "What is it?"
"Elias... I'm having twins. A boy and girl by the looks of it."
The tall being is silent as his eyes widen.
The silence was killing the poor girl.
Tears stream down her cheeks.
"I don't wanna die," she cries. She buries her face in his chest and grips the fabric of his robe.
He stood still for a long while.
All of his nightmares and fears were coming true.
He couldn't bare losing her, not her too.
His hand moves to her shoulder and grips it tightly.
"I won't lose you. I won't let you die." He whispers through clenched teeth.
(Y/n) looks up to see her human fiancé.
He bends down and captures her lips with his quickly.
It is passionate and hard, conveying all his love and promise.
She kisses back while Lindel and Silver fake gag.
They pull away and stare into each other's eyes. "I love you," they whisper in unison.
"Eilas is my lesson starting soon?" Adam asks walking into the kitchen.
Everyone looks at the boy.
"Whoa. What did I miss?"
"I'm having a boy and girl." (Y/n) responds and hugs her brother.
The young boy cheers and hugs his sister tightly. "Hey you two in there. I'm your uncle and we're gonna have so much fun. I'm gonna teach you magic and it's gonna be totally awesome. I can't wait to hold you."
The four grown ups smile at his innocence.
(Y/n) plays with Adam's hair gently. "I'll have Eilas start lessons after we all finish eating. Lindel has to get back to the Aerie anyways."
"We need to discuss what things we can do to make these last few months comfortable for you (n/n). It might have been easy sailing but the pain and torture will come soon enough. And when it does you will regret everything."
"Regret everything? How could I do that?" She questions confused.
Lindel shakes his head. "You will understand in time. For right now if you are in pain ask Elias to do a spell on page 54 of this book." He explains handing Elias a book from his bag. "Your pain level will determine what he needs to do according to the book."
Elias nods in understanding.
(Y/n) does the same.
"Silver make sure she cannot access any sharp or dangerous items."
The pink haired girl nods.
"Hot baths would probably be best once a day." The blonde adds.
The mother smiles and nods.
Elias sits in a chair at the kitchen table.
Lindel stands up and walks toward the door. "If anything comes up you need only visit or send a message."
"Thank you for everything Echo." Elias whispers looking at his friend.
The blonde looks from the tall mage to the mother. He nods once and leaves.
(Y/n) sits back down and continues eating.
Adam sits down and eats as well.
Silver runs a hot bath for (Y/n) as soon as she finishes eating.
Adam and Elias continue their lessons in the study.
The young girl leans back in the tub and closes her eyes. She rubs her belly and pokes around gently.
Suddenly she felt something against her hand.
She looks down quickly to see a hand pressed against her belly.
It would be a lie if she said it didn't terrify her at first.
The longer she stared at it the less it freaked her out though.
"My precious baby," she whispers. She traces the hand and another hand quickly joins the other. "There's definitely two of you in there." She mumbles and traces the other hand as well.
Something truly terrifying happened next.
One hand began to claw at her stomach.
She gasps and grips the edge of the tub.
It was a strange and painful sensation.
She presses on the hand as if it would stop the baby.
She cries out and it must have increased in volume because the bathroom door bursts open.
"What's wrong?" Elias asks quickly rushing to her side.
She didn't need to answer as he saw the baby.
He grabs the book and quickly skims the pages looking for an answer.
"To put the baby to sleep." He reads out loud.
Upon reading a certain page, he recites a soft chant and the clawing slowly stops.
(Y/n) pants heavily and her arms fall into the tub, making a splash.
Elias moves hair out of the way and kisses her forehead. He grabs a towel and drains the tub. He wraps the towel around her body and lifts her bridal style.
She leans into him, eyes barely open.
One arm rests across her bump and the other dangling.
Elias dries her off and changes her into comfy pjs. He lays her in bed and holds her close. "I'm so sorry," he whispers.
She knew he still blamed himself for her pregnancy.
He didn't realize the consequences were so deadly and the risks were almost not worth it.
Of course he wanted children with her but he couldn't bare to lose her in the process.
(Y/n) rubs her cheek gently with her thumb and lets her hand fall back down near her head. "Stop apologizing." She whispers and her eyes close.
He sighs softly and holds her close. He rubs her belly gently and the two of them fall asleep.
Adam was about to barge into the room and ask Elias to play but Silver stops him.
She covers her lips with her finger and guides him outside.
The two play for a couple hours before coming inside and going to sleep as well.
