"Have you checked all my emails? And do I have any meetings or appointments? The assignment that I gave to Ms.Salah should be on my table by 5 o'clock, inform her. And update me on the emails asap,"

I was fast speaking with Lauren in my office because of all the work burden on the office at this time of the year. It was always the same. New year, new beginnings, new meetings, new assignments.

My phone rang for the thousandth time possible and I graoned.

"Okay, Lauren you can go but I've got another email, check that and the previous ones and update after approximately half an hour,"

"Yes ma'am, as you may like,"

I picked up the phone, "Ana, can you fucking stop calling me for your theories, I'm very VERY very busy to handle any of your bullsh-" but then I realized that the ringtonewas not one of the mixture of all the 5sos songs onsidering my phone was on 'vibrate'.

A throat cleared at the other end.

"Good afternoon to you too, Miss Liana, but last that I remember, my name is not Ana?"

"Um, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience Mr.Williams, but my best friend is a little...uh you could call annoying at the moment with all the work piling up. You might know yourself,"

"Yes, yes, I know it all. I've retired just a few months back. So...been there, done that,"

"Sir? If you don't mind me asking, is there an important reason that you've called, because as you know the work and all and I'm very busy....." I trailed off not knowing how to end my rude-but-not-so-rude sentence.

"No, Liana. I know how busy you are at the moment, but as I've known you for quite some time, I was wondering if you'd like to come for dinner at late night or the time you tell me,"

I heard a small whisper behind Mr. Williams voice.

"Tell her dad. Tell her......we'll set the time according to her wish..... she has to come to our house ......and we are making chocolate lava cake...... and black forest cake..." the voice lowered down as I considered the offer after 'chocolate lava cake'.

Don't tell them that. Ok?

"Sir, I'm starting to consider the offer but I might have to check the timings and also, um, how do I say this...canmybestfriendcome?" I suddenly rushed at the end not wanting to make it awkward.

But now it was certainly very awkward.

"Sure Liana, you're practically a daughter of mine. You can bring as many guests as you like,"
