Chapter 3: 'Needy BFF.'

I scrolled on my iMac and frowned.

How could there be so many unchecked emails? I rubbed my temples, I had to go through the collaboration agreement with Mr. Ali as well, and-

oh I gotta call Lauren!

"Hello?"

"Good morning Miss Valdez, what shall I do for you?"

"Hey Lauren, I want you check and confirm my flight tomorrow and email me the details ASAP okay?"

"Of course Ma'am. Anything else?"

"Uh..." I racked my brain for anything else I needed to get done but I came blank, "no, I guess that's it, just confirm the meeting with Mr. Ali from Asian Textiles."

"Su- "

What now?!

I swung my rotating chair to my iMac while I put Lauren on hold.

'Savana <3 is calling you on Skype'

I hung up on Lauren and attended her call. Which I instantly regretted because immediately, she started yelling at me.

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU LIANA ROBERT VALDEZ?! Have you ever heard of a clock? Do you know it's used to look at the time? And while we are on the topic of clocks and times, do you know that YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO REACH PLACES WHEN YOU PLAN A HANGOUT. ON TIME!"

I slapped my forehead. Oh shoot shoot shoot. I totally forgot.

Oh my God she's going to kill me.

Or might just eat me alive.

God. I'm so dead.

"LIANA!"

Oh right, she was still waiting for me to answer. I gulped.

"H-hey Ana. How are you? G-good day isn't it today?" I knew I was pushing it. And from her deadly silence, I could tell that if she was standing in front of me, and if looks could kill, I would be six feet under right now.

I could hear her whisper-counting to ten.

"You know I can hear you Ana."

The whispering got quicker and she was on her way to twenty. I decided it was time to own up.

"Okay okay you can stop now Savana. Listen, I didn't mean to bail on you okay? I just kinda got busy in my work - Of which, by the way, a lot is left - and I just... forgot?" I tried to reason.

"Listen up Lee. I don't give a damn about the damn work that your nose is buried in all the damn time- "

I flinched at her language.

" -but we had a plan and you can't just do this right now- " 

To be fair, she made the plan and set the time and place and just ordered me to reach there! I'm not used to be being ordered ok!?

" -Especially when I confirmed with you about 4 damn times."

Oh, um, well she was right there.

So get your butt over here in 15 minutes or you're not getting your Gucci boots back. Ever."

What! I didn't even remember she still had those! Well now I just can't not go. They cost me about 100 damn dollars! Damn you for blackmailing me like that Savana!

"Fine! I'll be there in 15. Get my pizza and ice cream ready."

"Already did, and they're already half finished. So you better hurry up!" , She said in a fake sweet voice.

I shook my head and called Sebastian to let him know I need to reach Savana's place and oh, clothes?
I looked down at my outfit, I was just wearing a hoodie with no pants. Well, that wouldn't work. I decided to take a shower real quick and then just throw on some sweats. This is my bff's place anyway. Judging? Ha! We don't do that here bruh.

As soon as I rang the bell, somebody opened the door immediately and in a flash, they were blocking my vision and my face was buried in their neck so I couldn't breath or talk and then they decided to squeeze me to death.

"MMMPH! MMMMNPH! PHHH!"

I tried to get away her iron hard arms that were grappling me, and tried to speak but I was obviously, unsuccessful.
Just when I thought I'm going to die from lack of oxygen, Savana pulled away and let out a squeal.

"You're finally here Lee! I was waiting for you since forever! Come on I put your favourite movie and your pizza is already so cold!"

She grabbed my hand and pulled me (panting) in her house without even waiting for me to reply. She was controlling like that. But because I loved her to death didn't mean that I liked being manhandled!

So we spent the next 7 hours watching our favourite movies and binge watching 7 episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

And when the clock struck six, Savana yawned. And toppled on me on the bed. I decided it was nap time for her and I had to get going now anyway. I pat her cheek and started to get up but that clever girl just pulled me down again by my wrist.
"Where ya going? You don't need to change you're already in sweats."

"Home Savana. I'm going home. I have an important- "

"No no no no no", she interrupted me and held up her hand. "Wait right here. You're not going anywhere, this is a sleepover!" She exclaimed.

"Aw Ana, you know I would love to, but I have a flight tomorrow morning man. We're collaborating with The Asian Textiles and I have a meeting with Mr. Ali in Vancouver, tomorrow." I explained.

"You're going to Canadaaaa!" She squealed lazily.

I rolled my eyes, "Yes. Now if you don't mind will you please let go of my wrist?"

She looked at her hand in confusion, and then her eyes widened and instead of leaving my wrist, she used it to pull me on her and hug the life outta me again.

"I'm going to miss youuuu, sooooo much!" She pulled away, "Don't go pleazsh?" She looked at me with big green hopeful eyes.

I shut my eyes immediately, "No Savana! You can't pull that on me!"

She pouted at me and then suddenly sat up with crossed legs and turned the other way, scowling, "Ok go."

I chuckled at her childishness, "C'mon Ana, don't be like this!"

"Hmph!"

I inched closer to her, "Tell you what, I have an idea."

She didn't respond but I could tell her ears perked up.

"I just remembered I haven't even started packing yet, come with me to my place, we'll have our sleepover and you can help me pack too. Plus you can see me off at the airport tomorrow morning too!"

She squealed and hugged me again, "That's perfect! Why didn't I think of that!"

"Coz I'm smarter", I winked.

"You wish." She stuck her tongue out and we both giggled like teenagers.

I messaged Sebastian my faithful chauffeur. He said he'd be there in 5. I looked at Savana, she was snuggled on my shoulder. I shook my head and smacked her.

"Ow, stop harassing me woman!"

I rolled my eyes, "Get your stuff Ana, we're leaving in 5 mins."

She scowled at me but got up nontheless and I smirked.

I wasn't the CEO for no reason. Cue the wink.
