Liana's POV:

"Do I have any meeting today?" I inquired in my usual curt tone.

My fumbling P.A nearly jumped out of her skin, "Y-yes ma'am, you have a meeting with the Williams in an hour."

"Ah, is their son finally joining them?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am, and he's known to be very sincere about his work and is pretty good at it." she said.

"We'll see." I waved her away.

Jo or Josephine is my P.A. She makes silly mistakes sometimes, but till this moment, I have patiently endured and resisted the urge to fire her.

"Ma'am do need anything else?"

"Have you picked up my clothes for today's meeting?"

"Yes ma'am, your clothes are ready."

"Kay."

I went inside my closet to find a white white button up dress shirt hung up, with a red skirt, ironed to precision.

I felt a trickle of irritation.

"JOSEPHINE!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

She came scrambling into my room.

"Y-yes ma'am, i-is every- everything alright?" she stuttered while panting.

"ALRIGHT?! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU TO REMOVE EVERY RED PIECE OF CLOTH FROM MY GOD-DAMN CLOSET?" I screamed in fury, pointing towards that skirt.

"Ma'am, I-i f-forgot, I'll j-just-"

"You're fired." I cut her, sharply. She was insufferable.

"Ma'am, p-p-please-"

I threw a look that shut her up.

But I think I saw tears in her eyes?

You are the cause of them...
my inner voice chastised.

She sniffed and hurried out of my room.

I heaved a long sigh, took out a peach checkered skirt that went well with the shirt and my black coat.

I left my wavy caramel coloured hair down, put on some eyeliner and transparent gloss and went off to work.

15 mins later, I came in view of the building I practically live in.

'Valdez and Co'

I told Rhia, the receptionist, that I fired Jo and I need another well qualified candidate.

"Don't worry ma'am, I'll just check all the CVs people have been dropping online."

I simply nodded at her and walked to the conference room.

Two minutes later, the people who worked for me started to fill in, everybody greeting me as they sat down.

Then came in Mr. Charlie West Williams and his son Blake Benjamin Williams.

To say he was handsome was an understatement.

He was tall with brown hair, and blue electric eyes and a muscular body. Hair styled into toupee, a sexy smirk was plastered on his face.

...He was pretty attractive.

I cleared my throat to clear my mind too and stood up to shake hands with both of them, signaling both of them to sit.

They sat and we talked about the deal, but during the presentation, I noticed something.

This Blake guy was staring at me intensely.

I spared him a cool glance and he -

Did he have the audacity to wink at me?

My eyebrows shot up but I rolled my eyes and went back to work, my mind still distracted.

After the meeting Rhia told me that some people were waiting outside for the interview.

I was exhausted but nonetheless called the first candidate in, she was wierd. Plus she was wearing red so i dismissed her.

After 5 girls and 3 guys, I finally got a suitable person, Lauren.

I told her everything about work and how she was to reach my home at sharp 7 am. I called my chauffeur and sat in the car.

Then I called Savana.

Yeah, Savana Henry Cayhall. My best friend since forever. I mean since grade 3.

She yelled, literally screamed and I had to plug my ears till she calmed down.

Which did not happen, obviously.

"LIANA ROBERT VALDEZ, DID YOU FREAKING DISAPPEAR OFF OF THE FACE EARTH?"

"I'm sure I'm gonna lose my hearing today, my poor ears..." I delicately touched my ear lobes.

"Spill"

"What?" I said feigning innocence.

"Don't 'what' me, you know what I'm talking about."

"Okay, okay. Stop this verbal abuse, I was busy okay? I'm a business woman."

"Oh shut up"

"No seriously I had a meeting with the Williams, their son is joining their business."

And then i filled her up with the details of the meeting and the wink part. She squealed again.

"You met THE Blake Benjamin Williams, are you kiddin' me girl?!"

I remained silent, but I knew she got the telepathic vibes even through the phone.

"Ookay, so our hangout is still on, right?"

"Yeah yeah, see ya."

"Bubye, love ya"

I hung up, rushed upstairs, took a hot shower, changed and fell into a deep slumber in my comfy duvet. The image of his stupid smirk still etched into my eyelids.
