-Higgs' POV- I haven't told anyone about what I learned. But I'm luckily back to making deliveries, so nobody can question me. The metal necklace Deadman and Die-Hardman had given me weighs heavy on my neck.
"You want me to wear that?" I said, eying the necklace with suspicion.
"You'll need it, Troy." Die-Hardman had said, looking less agitated, if that is even possible.
"Connecting all the cities will be nearly impossible without the Q-Pid. That, and only you can touch it."
I reluctantly took it, seeing the mathematical equations on the metal slabs float above my hand.
And now here I am, slowly but surely connecting America again. I guess Sam was right, they'd just want to use me like I'm some specimen under a microscope.

After what feels like a long day, I drag my feet back to my room. Once I place Nava back in the pod holder, I search up Sam on the computer, curious if any results show up.
Surprisingly, it did.

With worried eyes, I type in his daughter's name.
Name: Louise Strand
Occupation: BB (Inactive)
Status: (Inactive/ Terminated)
Cause of Death: Autotoxemia
Age: 1
Familial Status: Mother: Lucy Strand (Deceased) Father: Sam Monaghan (Missing)
"Jesus.." I gasp, scanning over the information on screen. "She's beautiful," Sam said, holding Nava.
"That's why he wants Nava..." I realize.
"She reminds him of his dead daughter..."
I look back at Nava, who is calmly asleep.
That's also why he's never outright hurt Nava. He sees Louise in Nava.
(i want that bb of yours, higgs.)
I rush over to the sink and splash cold water on my face, trying to calm down.
I look into the mirror, not surprised to see a hallucination of Sam standing there. His voice echoes in a taunting way in my head as I glare at him.
"I'll have her, Higgs. There's nothing you can do to stop this. I already have the President's daughter. What makes you think I won't take your precious babygirl?"
