As the ninja began to discuss the event with Wu through the screen, one Ninja was leaning against the back wall, still eyeing the guilty-looking P.I.X.A.L.
"Did P.I.X.A.L lie? Did she know about Kai and hide the truth from us?" Asked Zane
He pushed off the wall and made eye contact with P.I.X.A.L, but she looked away in shame and Zane found the answer to his question.
"P.I.X.A.L knew everything beforehand when she downloaded the database containing the history of the Elemental Masters. Didn't you P.I.X.A.L?" Zane asked surprising the other ninja. "That on top of the fact Sensei Wu admitted his mistake withholding information, but P.I.X.A.L did the same thing and we are not reprimanding her."
"Wait, we have that? Why do I still not know who my mom is?!" Barked Jay.
P.I.X.A.L was overwhelmed by all the eyes set upon her for this event that was slowly tearing the ninja apart.
" I did not know anything about Wu's past, though I was aware that there was a man throughout Ninjago's history following the masters of fire." She responded, staring down at the floor.
"Then why didn't you tell us that?" Lloyd asked eagerly.
"Because I told her not to," Wu said, attempting to take the blame off P.I.X.A.L.
And it worked.
"Why did you tell P.I.X.A.L and not us?! Can't you trust us?!" Cole yelled.
"I thought P.I.X.A.L could have found a solution on how to track this mysterious person." I had a plan the second you five received the Elemental Master Titles. I just didn't know this would happen so soon.
"So soon?! We've been Elemental Masters for years!" Jay shouted.
"We could have helped! When I was Samurai X I had files on almost every criminal in Ninjago!" Nya retorted.
"I didn't think you were ready-"
"You never do! You always treat us like infants. Like we can't handle the truth, but we can! We've faced things some people only see in their worst nightmares, but we did it together. We can face anything as a team when we trust each other and we don't lie. I don't know how many times I'll have to say that today. You're our leader, you should know that." Lloyd stared at Wu with a burning disappointment.
"Come on guys let's go find Kai," Jay said turning away from the monitor.
"Ninja don't, You can't go to this half-witted!" Sensei Wu pleaded.
Nya hung up the call, "We won't be going in half-witted, we'll be going in angry."

A day had passed and Kai was starving. His eyes still were a fluorescent shade of red and his red veins pulses through his arms. His eyes set on the Samurai Cave in the distance but was worried his sister would have thought to go there, so he didn't enter. He thought of going to the Lost City of Ouroboros, but who knows who is lurking around there? Then suddenly he saw a figure in the distance, someone familiar.
"Masssssster of fire, isssss that you" a blue snake inquired.
"Scales? What are you doing out here?" Kai was surprised to see a familiar scaly face so far away from the sewers. He couldn't help but smile.
"Well, it'sssss Ssscalessss Jr.'sss show and tell at ssschool tomorrow now that the ssserpentine are allowed to attend ssschool with humanssss. I wanted to get him sssomething interesssting becaussse I'm not going to let Linda from the ssschool board's little rodent, Tommy, one up my ssson. Ssso I went to get a relic from hisss heritage, but the busss only goessss ssso far. What are you doing ssso far away from the other ninja?"
"Uh, personal mission. I need to figure some stuff out"
"Well, I can definitely sssee thisss is out of my league." He gestured to Kai's eyes and injured arm. "Good luck Kai, ssssee you when Ninjago isss being attacked again."
"Yeah, it was nice to sssee- I mean um... see you. Scales Jr. is really lucky to have a dad like you."
"I know, I know." Scales said as he slithered away in the direction of the Lost City of Ouroboros. He turned around, "Before I sssslither off, may I give you a piece of advice?"
"I guess so..."
"Whatever you're running from, it will catch up to you eventually. Asssss a family man now, I'm aware you have your own, cherish them. Don't let them go."
"Thanks, Scales." Kai gave a small smile. "I appreciate it.
He turned his back on the serpentine. He continued walking and a couple of hours passed. He supported his hurt shoulder while looking for places to hide if someone attacked.
He stopped by Jay's parents' junkyard, he tried to leave a note but the paper burned in his hand. He managed to stock up on food and water and let himself out. As he continued on his dangerous trail to nowhere he heard loud noises from the sky.
"Oh, not this again." He grunted looking up and dropping the sandwich and bottle of water he has in his hands.
Another large robot appeared, but this time around nine more followed. All of them were prepared to fight.
"I see you brought friends," Kai said preparing to fight.
And then the last thing Kai wanted to happen, well... happened. He heard the Land Bounty from a distance.
"And it seems like I brought mine too, even though I didn't send an invite."
Kai felt an immediate thrash of pain as a robot wiped down with its ginormous arm, sending him soaring into the distance. As Kai began to get up, another kicked him back, like a game of really painful soccer.
Just as soon as the rest of the ninjas arrived Kai had cuts, bruises, and a broken bone here and there.
"Kai!!!" Nya yelled as they ran towards him but were quickly stopped by a large robot.
"Stay away!" Kai warned after he let out a painful hiss as he put weight on his left ankle.
They all blasted them with their powers, but nothing worked. The large robot picked them up in his overly-sized hands and lifted the ninja into the air.
"Hey, Megatron! Put us down!" Jay yelled
They all began to struggle as they saw their friend fighting a losing battle.
"My strength isn't working on it!" Cole yelled.
"Kai! Use your powers!" Lloyd cried.
"I can't!!!!" Kai yelled back struggling to dodge the other eight robots charged at him.
"You have to do it or you'll die! I can't lose you!" Nya screamed.
And as a foot was about to flatten Kai's entire body he turned around, lifted his hands, and absorbed a little fire knocking back the robot.
"Hit it with everything you have Kai!" Zane yelled, hoping Kai might have figured out how to do so.
But there was no luck.
"I am!!! It's not working!" Kai responded. Kai shook his hands, trying to shake off the curse that held onto them.
Kai close his eyes and did the only thing he could do.
All the fire from the robot's insides began to swarm toward Kai. The fire coming from all nine beasts washed over Kai. There was enough fire to fill an Olympic swimming pool. Kai writhed in pain, screaming until the amount of power flowing into him began to be too much to bear. Kai fell unconscious midair.
The robots started to fall to the floor, creating craters in the sand, as Kai was lifted into the air, unmoving, taking in all the power. Soon the fire around Kai turned white flowing around him. It looked powerful and like if you touched it you'd die instantly.
Kai fell to the ground with a nasty crunch echoing as he fell. The ninja was barely able to support themselves falling but they used Airjitzu and stumbled to the ground. They started towards Kai but were interrupted as a slightly smaller robot came from the sky, took Kai, and vanished before they could even say his name.
Kai was gone, again. And this time it was all their fault.
