Power's Awake

*With the Ninja*

Lloyd and Wu raced to the lab where Kai has woken. There was no time to spare, they had to explain... everything.

Once they arrived in the area they saw Kai, sitting up and exhausted. He was sitting with his legs dangling off the metal table he was lying unconscious on earlier.

"KAI!" Lloyd yelled as he raced towards the table.

"Ugh... No yelling please," Kai mumbled with his eyes closed due to the sensitivity from the light.

"Wha- what happened?" Kai followed up.

"What do you remember?" Cole questioned.

"I remember... pain,"

Everyone winced when Kai said that. No one could bear to remember the state Kai was in only a week earlier.

"Um... this guy... Fest. He used me as some kind of experiment... to make weapons. He said my fire... the elemental fire was special."

"It is," Wu spoke up.

"What do you mean?" Jay asked.

"Unlike average fire, Elemental fire comes from the air around Kai. It connects to his blood, his soul and it gives him strength."

"Yeah," Kai said.

"I've never seen a blue fire like that before..."

"Blue? Natural blue fire is... not possible in my database." Zane spoke.

There was a moment of silence... this was a lot to take in, for everyone.

"Wait... Fest. he mentioned something about my dad... what was that about?" Kai asked.

So Wu explained. He told Kai about his dishonesty. How his father was Fest's breaking point. How he dug what happened deep down so he would never hurt his ninja.

"I don't understand... Why didn't you tell me?!?!?!" Kai raised his voice to a low, raspy shout. it was nothing compared to his screams of pain back in the lab.

"I just wanted to protect you ..."

"Protect me? I could have been ready if you just told me!" Kai retorted.

"Well I am done lying... when you were brought back here to be... mended, there was an imbalance I sensed in you. Your power seemed... depleted. Until you find balance, your powers will be... gone. It is built into your blood." Wu preached.

"Wait so Kai's powers are gone?!?!" Nya asked.

"That's impossible!" P.I.X.A.L exclaimed.

"No, it is not gone... Kai is just imbalanced." Wu attempted to explain.

"No! Don't put this on him! He's not doing this on purpose!" Jay shouted.

"If anything, Fest should be paying for this..." Cole grunted.

They all started shouting even though they all had the same goal,

to get back at Emanuel Fest.

"I gotta get out of here," Kai thought.

He attempted to stand and move his way to the exit, but the second his feet touched the floor, he fell to the ground. Everyone's heads turned to worry about Kai's well-being and Lloyd raced to his aid as well as Cole. They both helped him to his feet and handed him crutches from the time Jay hurt his ankle.

"You know that was a dumb idea right?" Jay blurted.

"Well, all you idiots bickering is giving me a headache. It's like you can't make a solid agreement without me there to just shout a solution." Kai exclaimed sarcastically.

"Don't flatter yourself," Cole said grinning.

This is the first time he cracked a smile in a while. Everyone was so angry for so long there was no time to be even remotely happy.

Happy. That's a silly thought.

*With Fest in his 2nd lab*

Fest sat there waiting for a ping on his radar. He patiently waited for his radar to go off. He needed to recover his battery.

"No, he is no longer my battery, I will soon take his power. He's just a temporary containment for something I DESERVE" he thought.

Emanuel has done so much for this power, and he still has no idea whether Kai is still alive.

He could have killed his life's dream.

"NO" he shouted attracting some of his employees for the second time that day.

Some of them discreetly walked away or edged away from Fest.

One of them even said,

"I think Fest might be losing it" to another, but it was too quiet for Fest to hear.

But little did they know,

Fest lost it a long time ago. He's barely even holding it together.

But there was no changing what has already been done. There is only tomorrow; and tomorrow will be a good day for Fest.

Soon a different employee ran into the room, he was a sluggish man with big bulky glasses and a large protruding nose. He gasped a few times for air and said,

"Check the radar!"

"I do not see any sightings of fire Dr. Wartston," Fest replied.

"But there was a ping of electricity in the middle of the desert. Perhaps that is where the Ninja are hiding!" he Doctor exclaimed.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let us go! And bring our finest weapons... I have someone to apprehend." Fest said evilly.
