*Samurai X's Headquarters in the desert*

They all stood there.... aimlessly. Now what?

They knew they had to come up with some sort of plan, but without Kai being conscious all they can do is run. They know Fest will never stop searching for Kai and until he is conscious, they are sitting ducks.

"So... now what?" Jay spoke up.

"I- I'm not sure. But for now, we make sure Kai is okay and we are safe from Emanuel." Lloyd said.

"How is Kai?" Cole asked.

Zane responded, "His vitals are stable. His bones are not completely healed and the internal bleeding has stopped. If.... when he wakes up he will still be in quite a large amount of pain but he will be okay."

"Thank you, Zane," P.I.X.A.L said, hopes high.

"I am not doing this for you," Zane stated.

P.I.X.AL shifted in discomfort.

The air was thick with tension. They were a team yet some members were still divided. They all had one thing looming over them. How Kai, no matter how stern or tempered he is, brought the team together. He was truly the thing holding his team together. The original reason the team came together in the first place. His motivation was enough to get the team through anything.

And now... he was broken laying on a table. No sharp remarks or headstrong ideas, which despite the concerns of others, worked for Kai. No spark in his eye when he is prepared to fight.

"Hmmm" Wu grunted.

"What is it Sensei?" Cole asked.

"There is something... wrong with Kai..." he spoke.

"Ohhhh!!! I had NO idea! It's not like he is UNCONCIOUS or anything!!!" Jay blurted.

"No... something inside him. In his heart. An internal conflict.....I must meditate put thought to this issue" and as soon as he said that, he exited the room.

"...Okay, what?" Jay said blatantly.

*Wu meditating*

Things flew through Wu's mind. Memories of Kai, his first encounter at his families' shop, to him unlocking his true potential, and even to when he stepped up after Morro possessed Lloyd.

What changed?

Kai has always been comfortable with his powers. Used them on a daily basis and mastered them perhaps better than his father before him. He has always used them with compassion until Fest made him fear them.

Kai was generating more than hid body could bear; constantly putting him under pain and stress. Perhaps the unbalance Wu felt was his love for his powers shifting.

No. It wasn't like that. It didn't feel like Kai was blatantly rejecting his powers. It felt like his body was yearning for them.

"Oh no," Wu said under his breath.

Kai is yearning for his powers..... because he feels like he no longer has them. But how is that possible?

Wu went deep into thought thinking of different ways this could have happened. A master of the elements cannot "lose" his power. It rushes through his veins, through his body.

It was biological.

Perhaps being put under such stress damages Kai's chakra or power flowing through his blood. An imbalance in his body.

Wu opened his eyes.

"I must tell the Ninja."

Soon after he said that he heard running through the hallway and his room doors slide open.

Lloyd stood their, sweat running down his forehead with a wide smile spreading across his face.

"Ah, Lloyd. Just who I wanted to see-" Wu was interrupted.

"KAI IS AWAKE!" Lloyd blurted out.
