Chapter Ten

Ruby's P.O.V~

I heard a car pull up outside. A few seconds later the boys walked in, when I saw Ashton I couldn't stop smiling. Victoria gave me a knowing look and I stuck my tongue out at her and she raised her eyebrow at me.

'Can we have pizza for lunch?' Calum asked like a little kid, I groaned

'Again? Can't we like go for a picnic or something?' I suggested

'Thats an amazing idea, yeah I agree, picnics are cool! Anyone else?' Ashton agreed with me, a bit too enthusiastically, I narrowed my eyes, hmm.

'Pic nic is good with me' Victoria smiled and everyone nodded.

'Picnic it is then' I exclaimed, heading into the kitchen and getting some good ready for the picnic, everyone came through to help.

'Strawberries, we have to have them!' Ashton jumped up and down, taking the strawberries from the fridge and putting them in the picnic bag. I turned around to put the sandwiches in and almost died with the amount of food that was in the bag.

'Jesus guys, leave some food in the cupboards' I said monotone although, I was smiling. The boys took the bags into the car and we all piled in, I sat in the passenger seat, giving Ashton the directions to the lake.

We had arrived at the lake, and thankfully hardly anyone was there. We were currently sat on the grass, eating and chatting away to each other, liked we'd know each other for years.

'Ruby? Vic?!' I heard a posh American accent say from behind me, wait a second!

'SUMMER?!' Victoria and I screamed running towards her and tackling her into a hug

'Summer! Oh my god I can't believe you're here! I thought you flew back to America for good?' I was so shocked, we both saw Summer last on the day we of school almost two years ago, it was an emotional day, we thought we'd never see her again.

'I'm allowed to visit aren't I?' She laughed

'Summer-Jane!' Victoria scolded 'Why didn't you call?' She frowned

'I lost y'all numbers, and I wanted to surprise you!' She smiled and Victoria hugged her

'How did you know we were here?' I asked, Summer laughed

'I didn't, I was gonna drive to your house after I came and visited our favourite place' we tackled her into another hug

'Summer we've missed you so much!' We heard coughing behind us, oh yeah, we were here with the boys.

'Summer meet the boys, boys this is Summer-Jane, one of our bestest friends!' I shrieked, I really did miss her! Summer took a proper look at the boys then finally realised who they are.

'Oh my gosh!' She breathed, then calmly ran up to them and hugged them one by one, taking longer with Michael.

'Summer can I have my boyfriend back now?' Victoria asked and Summer raised her eyebrow.

'Girlll we need to catch the eff up' she laughed and Victoria nodded, dragging Michael to her side

'Mine' she whined. We all sat back down and eat some more.

'Open' Ashton said, hanging a strawberry in front of my mouth, feeding it to me, I obeyed and he placed to strawberry in my mouth. Awh he is such a cutie! He repeated the process a few more times before kissing me on the nose.

'Jesus you're so cute' I said to him and he smiled dimples popping.

I looked over at Summer she was sat next to Calum twirling her hair around her finger and laughing and something Calum said. It's official, Summer-Jane is defiantly back! Flirty flirty Summer-Jane. Calum leaned over and whispered something in Summer's ear, and she reached in to her pocket for her phone, handing him it and he did the same, I guessed they were swapping numbers, typical Summer. I glanced over at Luke, he's not said much since Summer got here. He was looking over at them, his eyes full of jealousy, picking at the grass. Must talk to him when we get back home, this is not good.

An hour or so later we had left and arrived back at the house.

'Luke can I talk to you?' I asked him in a hushed voice, he shrugged and walked into the spare room and I followed suit.

'Are you okay?' I asked, sitting on the opposite bed to him. His eyes flashed with sadness then went back to no emotion.

'Not really...' He trailed off, I gave him a sympathetic look

'Luke please tell me, I won't tell the others. If there was an oscar for secret keeping it would go to me' that made him smile. He opened his mouth then closed it again, before finally speaking

'I'm bisexual' he finally breathed out hardly audible

'Thats okay, Summer-Janes bisexual, Luke us girls are not homophobic' his face twisted at the mention of Summers name.

'I take it that's not it babe?' I asked and he shook his head

'I have feelings for Calum' he chocked out, tears sliding down his face, 'and I thou-thought he at least liked me t-too, I mean- I mean' his tears took over his words and I pulled him into a hug.

'Shhh Lukey it's ok' I soothed

'He was flirting with me, the other night and we almost kissed, and then he goes and flirts with her like it meant nothing to him, well it meant everything to me, everything!' I half smiled at Luke

'You've got it bad' and he laughed

'Yeah...' He replied, drying his eyes. I pondered wondering whether to tell Luke about Summer... Ah what the heck.

'Luke listen, Summer.. Summer has a boyfriend back in America. They're always on and off, but they really love each other' Luke's eyes flickered with anger 'Summer, finds it hard to attach emotionally, and when she hits a rough patch with her boyfriend, she flirts with other men, and that's probably why she was flirting with Calum'

'She shouldn't use him like that... She's got to, tell him!' He almost shouted

'I'll make sure she will, I promise, please don't say anything to him, okay?' He nodded, smiling, that's the Luke I know.

We all spent the night chatting, and Summer left quite early, which made Luke happy, he was actually engaging in conversation, and I don't know how no one else noticed his change in body language.

Everyone was currently in bed, and I was laid in mine with Ashton, and we were 'spooning' as they call it. I thought about telling Ashton about Luke but decided against it, he trusted me.

'I'm having an amazing time Ruby' Ashton said, cuddling into me closer, his bare chest warm against my bare back. 'And you're an amazing girl too' he added, squeezing my hand, I squeezed back and he kissed my head.

'Night Ruby' he said

'Night' I said back, and in my half sleep state I just heard him whisper

'I love you Ruby Scott' and for the second night in a row, I went to sleep smiling.
