One called a meeting on us after I had found the location of Rafael Pérez. The man in question was best friends with the devil. One explained to me, before the said meeting, that Isai "The Exterminator" Alvarez had thrown one of the biggest coups in history, the very same one the news talked about the other night at the bar. Not only did he kill the ex-President's whole family, he tortured endless of his men and murdered everybody who stood in his way, including children and women who were just at the wrong place wrong time.
He had a past of vicious activities, such as being a leader of a powerful drug cartel, a creator of a deadly cult, the Nomads, and a killer of politicians. Overall, the man was the scumbag of the Earth. He roamed the land with weapons in his hands and destroyed everything he touched. One was stuck on dethroning him.
"Thank you all for meeting this quick." My boss let out addressing the rest of the team, even though his request was an order, not a family dinner invitation.
We had gathered around the computer in the Nerd Room. Everybody was there, looking serious and determined. As I had already been half-debriefed on the situation, I observed my colleagues' reactions. One explained the base of his plan, which now consisted of flying to Nicaragua and finding Rafael Pérez.
I couldn't fight the urge to look at Four. He was sitting very still, almost like he was forcing himself not to move. He was disheveled, his pale-green irises stuck on One, and the bags under his eyes were clearly getting bigger. Even though everything in me screamed not to trust the guy, I was seriously pulled towards him.
"So, whom we getting for new president then?" Asked Three, his sunglasses still on, attracting my lost attention.
"No coup this time," replied One. "Our mission is only to get the fucker off the throne."
"But who will replace him?" Inquired Five, her hair still as perfect as ever.
God, how can a woman be this beautiful?
"I don't care for now." Admitted One. "We'll find a replacement along the way, if we need to. I still think that Ortega's vice-president, his wife, would do the job perfectly."
"Wait, isn't his family dead? I thought they were killed." Questioned Seven, probably remembering the same thing as me.
The news explicitly said that his family were assassinated along with Ortega. I looked at One too, waiting for his answer.
"Yeah, turns out the wife survived."
I was relieved that we did not have to look for a replacement, it was hard enough to stage a complete takedown of a renowned crazy criminal.
"Will she take on the job?" I retorted. "Her husband was just murdered."
One shrugged my question off. Repeated to us that it wasn't the most important part of the plan for now.
