We were all sat inside a black van, acquired by Three two days prior. Luckily, we were able to turn it into a complete moving Nerd Room, at my demand. Two computers, which would soon be connected to the security system of the factory, were installed in the back of the truck. Five would be the one monitoring them, keeping an eye open for us. She had also brought a heavy bag full of medical supplies, just in the likely case that one of us would get hurt.
Three was dressed in a deep blue shirt, identical to the ones the guards were wearing. He was proudly wearing his fake ID card around his neck. As for the rest of us, we were all dressed in proper attire, which meant black shirts and pants with holsters, our earbuds and throat mics, combat boots and Kevlar vests.
"Four." Said One with a hoarse voice. "You're up."
Parkour boy was still getting ready, setting up his mic carefully. He had pulled his hood over his head, hiding his blond hair. He locked his green irises with our boss's, raised his eyebrow and waited.
One sighed.
"Are you afraid?" He asked Four, slightly annoyed.
"Fuck yes." Replied Four with a wide smile. "But that never stopped me before now, has it?"
I couldn't help the smirk creeping on my lips, but I could hide it from him. Which I did as I stared at the ground, recomposing myself. Next thing I heard was the door opening to then close behind the Skywalker.
I inhaled deeply, wishing on the stars that we wouldn't screw this up. If any of this would reach Alvarez, our plan to take him down would become much more complicated.
We were all anxiously waiting in the car, holding our breaths. The sooner Four would connect me to the network, the sooner we'd know what we were up against. I crossed my fingers, hoping everything would go as planned. I couldn't even think about Four getting hurt, not for something like this.
"Eyes on Four." Confirmed Seven through the comms.
"How do I look?" Joked Four in return, causing a small chuckle throughout the group.
"Bitchin'." The sharpshooter replied. "Two men on your ten."
Radio silence.
"Good one, Four." Seven complimented him, reassuring us on Four's status.
Another sigh of relief. I knew Four was good at his job, which included close combat, but I couldn't help the worry from grasping me.
"He's gonna be fine." Said One towards me.
I was curious about what had pushed him to think I was seeking reassurance. I looked at him with a confused expression, very much the same Five had thrown had us at the same time.
