"Hey... Hey! Can you hear me?" Screamed Four directly into my face, a few seconds after I had shot and killed a man.
My vision was blurry and it was like the world had gone into full slow-motion around me. I barely caught myself on the desk I was up against as Four was running toward me. He grabbed me by the shoulders, shook vividly and tried to wake me up from my daze. I placed a hand on my wound, feeling the warm fluid against it.
"I'm... I'm fine." I stuttered, staring at his neck instead of his eyes.
He probably knew I was lying, but chose not to mention it. He carefully pulled me next to him, sliding his arm behind my back. With worry written all over his face, he helped me reach the door, which we opened on One and Two. They both looked confused, gazing between us and the dead man on the floor.
"Everything fine?" One inquired, raising his eyebrows.
He then noticed Four's bloody hand as well as my bloody leg. Without questions, he nodded toward the hallway, ordering us to move. We obeyed, eager to leave the factory.
"You better hurry, they called back-up." Five informed us as we heard the van's motor roar through the comms.
A wave of voices and footsteps interrupted our momentum. We stumbled upon each other, crouching at the intersection between two hallways. I knew the door was merely meters away, but I also knew a shitload of bad guys were waiting for us there.
Four strengthened his grasp around my waist, ignoring the probable pain in his hand.
"Another route?" Whispered Two, analyzing the paths before her.
We waited, hoping nobody would appear in front of us. I started to think about the blueprints I had inspected; perhaps hidden in the back of my brain were memories of the patterns of the corridors. I closed my eyes, not knowing if it was either because I was getting extremely tired or because I was trying to focus.
Echoing, drops of my blood hitting the floor kept me from dozing off in Four's arms.
"Entrance 4F", I muttered under my breath.
"What?" Inquired Four, trying to look at me in the eyes.
"Entrance 4F," I repeated louder, both to Four and for the rest of the team to hear.
They all exchanged a perplex glare until Five screamed in victory.
"She's right! Turn back, there's a hidden door further than where One went." She explained quickly, without taking a breath. "We'll join you there."
