Chapter 22

It's the first day of senior year and Michelle has gone out of her way to not talk to Peter during the weekend. She's not mad at him anymore, she's just having a tough time interpreting her feelings. On one hand she wanted to keep being Peter's girlfriend, he's a great boyfriend and she wanted to be with him. On the other hand, she could not keep seeing Peter bloody, knowing that it he stood the chance of not coming back to her after every fight. It brings up too many raw memories.

She got dressed and ready for school. Michelle, let her hair flow down her back in a long mane of curls, and packed a couple of books in her bag. She was ready for her first day. She went downstairs and made some cereal while she waited for Betty, who's picking her up. Maya moved back on to campus and her mother Anna is working the morning shift this week, so Michele was alone. Michelle gets a text from Betty saying she's outside, so she cleans up and walks out the door, locking it behind her.

She jumps in the front seat. "Hey, MJ, are you ready for our last first day of school?!" Betty asked happily.

"Yeah, I guess," Michelle answered.

Betty looks over at her friend, "You and Peter still not talking, huh?"

"Nope," was all Michelle said.

"Well it'll all work out, you two are endgame." Betty said confidently.

"Maybe, "Michelle mumbles back and for the rest of the ride they listened to music, for which Michelle was thankful.

They got to school, and Betty parked, they both got out of the car where Betty immediately found Ned and ran to him. Next to him was Peter. Michelle's and Peter's eyes meet. She hasn't decided what she wants to do yet about the relationship yet, so she walks away. Before she turns around though, she sees Peters face drop, and hears Betty says, 'she just needs a little space'. Michelle feels horrible for making Peter sad, but she keeps walking. Inside the school, Michelle grabs her schedule and bumps into Felicia.

"Sup MJ. Give me your schedule. I wanna see if we have any of the same classes." Felicia says taking the schedule from Michelle's hand.

Michelle rolls her eyes at the white-haired girl waiting for her schedule back. "Look we have AP BIO and English together, along with lunch." Felicia tells Michelle.

"Oh," Was all Michelle said.

Felicia look at her, "You and bean sprout still fighting?"

Michelle didn't say anything.

"It's okay you don't have to talk. Relationships are hard. That's why I'm not in one.... That and I hate everyone here." She shrugs.

Michelle laughs out loud, "What about Flash?"

Felicia raises her eyebrow, "What about him?"

"Never mind. Wanna go to class now?"

"Sure," Felicia says, and they walk to class

Michelle has most of her classes and lunch with Peter and she was still avoiding him through the day. He tries to get her to talk to him, but she strategically places herself away from him. At the end of the day Michelle is about to head to Betty' car, when she finally got cornered by Peter.

He held her arm so she couldn't escape, "MJ, talk to me." He says.

Michelle turns to look at him and his eyes are filled with sadness. She can feel tears forming the corners of her eyes.

"Please talk to me," he pleads.

"Peter, uh, I-" she got cut off when there was a crowd of people running away from a building a few blocks away.

Peter looked away, then turned back to Michelle, deciding what to do.

"Go, Peter," Michelle says to him.

He kisses her on the cheek, "We'll talk later," and he runs in the direction of the building.

She misses Peters touch. She misses his lips on hers, but she needed to get her thoughts together before she talks to him, Michelle walks to Betty's car where she was waiting for her.

"What happened?! you look like you're about to cry. Are you okay?" Betty runs to her friend.

"I'm fine," Michelle says, her voice cracking a bit, "I just had a long day."

"Did you get a chance to talk to Peter yet? Or are you still avoiding him?" Betty asked taking Michelle home.

"We were gonna talk, maybe, before he got pulled away. I just don't know what to do about anything." Michelle huffs, crossing her arms.

"Wow, you must really love him if you're stressing this much," Betty laughs.

"All that boy knows how to do is stress me out," Michelle mumbles and Betty laughs harder.

They make it to Michelle's apartment. Betty tells her bye and that she'll be there at the same time tomorrow.

Michelle goes into the fridge and heats up some leftover while she plans out her schedule for her schoolwork, the academic decathlon, and her Internship. She manages it finish planning out her schedule, when her mother come back home.

"Hey, Michelle!! How was your first day of school?" Anna asked.

"Boring as usual," Michelle replied.

"So, nothing happened? Well I heard the bank a couple of blocks from your school got robbed, but your Spider-Man captured them." Anna said.

Michelle's eyes widen, "What do you mean my Spider-Man?"

"Just that he's your favorite hero is all," Anna laughed at her daughter.

"Whatever," Michelle says back quietly so her mother can't hear.

"So, I'm going out with some coworkers and I won't be home until later tonight. You can order a pizza if you want." She tells her daughter. "I'm going to get dressed." Anna says walking to her room.

Michelle cleans up her mess and goes to her room to read. A while later Michelle hears her mother yelling at her, "Michelle, I'll be back later. Don't let anyone in. Bye!"

"Bye Ma!" Michelle yelled back to her mother and goes back to reading.

Eventually, Michelle fell asleep reading when she was suddenly jolted awake by a knocking at her window. She peeks around her bed to see who it is without giving herself away too much. Michelle finally get a good view of the knocker to find out it was none other than Spider-Man.

Did you hear that the Spidey marvel movies might be trying to push Zendaya out for Mary-Jane?!?! I will not be watching if that happens. But I also heard about Zendaya's MJ for spider-woman and idk how I feel about it. I might not post again this week, but if I do it will be towards the end of the week. Because I took those weeks off, I'm almost caught up in my writing and I don't want to post more then I can write. Either way I'll post again sometime early next week, most likely Monday.
