Alex's POV:
I'm literally running around my room. I've never been so nervous in my life. I just hope this goes as planned. I have rose petals all over my flower, candles in every corner, and on my bed is a picnic basket filled with cut up sandwiches, pickles, and my favorite, chocolates covered strawberries.
Its 20 minutes to 7 and I'm still not ready. I've tried on three different outfits, and nothing seems to fit right for this occasion. So instead I go old school and put on a tux. I know we're not going anywhere, but what can I say. Its the thought that counts.
I'm almost done when my mom walks in my room, and a big smile is creeping up her face.
"You look amazing, hun!" She exclaims, while coming to fix my bowtie. "You look more nervous than your father when he asked me to go steady. He kept fidgeting and he kept shaking, it was so adorable."
I laughed at the thought of my parents. They were the closest things I've had since my older brother and sister left off to college last year. They're supposed to be visiting soon. I looked at my mom with pleading eyes.
"What if he says no, Mom?" I ask her.
"Then he doesn't know how much of a great catch you are, that's ultimately his loss." She answered.
"Thanks."
"Your Welcome."
"So when's Dad gonna be home."
"He should be home within the next hour or so."
"Okay." I smiled.
The doorbell rang bringing us out of our mother-son moment. I glanced in the mirror one last time before my mom put her arms on my shoulder.
"Honey, you look great. The outcome will be better than you know. I love you and good luck."
My mom walked downstairs to open the door while I was making sure everything was in place. I walked down the hallway and greeted Zach at the door.
"Hey Zach!"
"Hey, Alex. What's with the suit." He laughed off a blush.
"Ummm...."
"I'm kidding, you look amazing." He said, nervously.
"Thanks." I blushed
He smiled. I loved that smile. It always seemed to take my breath away. He was dressed as he was earlier at school. I remembered he was working on that project with Wyatt.
"So how's the Abe Lincoln project going with Wyatt?" I asked.
"We finally finished Thank God. It took forever it seemed." He said, relaxing.
"So wanna head up to my room?" I asked.
He looked down at his feet like he was debating on an answer before looking up and smiling.
"I'm kind of thirsty , can you get me some water first?" He asked.
"Sure."
We walk towards my kitchen and I grab a glass cup and fill it with cold water and handing it to Zach. I didn't notice him shaking, why is he nervous? I questioned myself.
"Are you OK?" I asked.
"Peachy."
"Then why are you so nervous."
"I don't know. It just you look really nice and I don't know what to think of it. What are you planning?" He questioned me, a smirk playing on his face, which made me giggle.
