The Ultimate Choice

Chapter 13

Alex's POV:

So its been two weeks since I asked Zach to be my boyfriend. It has been the best weeks of my life. I've been wanting to take our relationship to the next level but I don't know how. I get so nervous when it comes to sex. I'm still a virgin, which should explain a lot.

I have more important things to worry about. Like Wyatt. He's becoming more and more distracted. Sometimes its like he doesn't know I'm around. I've asked him if everything was alright, but I'd get the occasional "everything's OK." Its confusing. I've seen him with this guy he introduced me to about a week ago named Max. I could tell from mile away that Max was gay. I never said that to Wyatt though.

The lunch bell just rang and I'm headed out to the cafeteria. I walk in and its more noisy than usual. I'm approached by Lena. I sigh mentally. I still didn't know if I should forgive her.

"Hey Alex." She says nervously. "How've you been?"

I just stare at her. I didn't know whether to answer her or simply walk past her as if I didn't hear her.

"I'm great."

"How's everybody?"

"Define everybody."

"Wyatt, and Taylor."

"Oh. Why don't you ask them yourself?"

"I would if they talked to me."

"Well you brought it on yourself." I shrug and walked past her when she grabs my arm.

"I'm sorry."

I snatch away from her and scowl at her.

"Should've thought about that before you did what you did." I say and walk away.

I look back at her and she's already walking towards the exit with her head cast down. I shake the guilt off and continue to my table. I shouldn't feel guilty. She should. From looking at her I could tell she was. I saw it all in her eyes. It showed guilt and regret, more than that was what made me want to forgive her was depression.

I sit down at the table and put my head in my hands and sigh. I suddenly feel two arms wrap around me and a kiss upon my forehead. I smile up at Zach. He immediately tenses.

"Whats wrong?" He asks, concerned.

"Nothing, its just my friendships seem to be falling apart. Wyatt has been distant, and Taylor....idk what's with her. Lena just tried to apologize again. I don't know whether to forgive her or not. Everything is a big mess."

"Its okay, babe. Everything will be back the way it was before. Just give it time. As for Wyatt, I've talked to him but I promised him I wouldn't say anything. He wants to tell you himself."

At that point Wyatt approaches the table with Max following.

"How's the adorable couple?" He asked, smiling.

"We're okay." Zach answers him. "But how's everything with you?"

"I'm good, just trying to figure some stuff out." He pauses. "Alex, can I talk to you for a second."

I look up questioningly before answering.

"Sure."

I stand and we both leave the cafeteria. I look back at Zach who gives me a reassuring smile. I look back at Wyatt who seems to be fidgeting. I begin to wonder what he has to talk to me about. We get to the football field and sits on the bleachers. Wyatt places his head in his hands and looks back at me. I suddenly have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I hope this isn't bad.

"So what did you need to talk to me about?"

"Alex.....I'm confused about my sexuality."

I mentally sigh and look up at him and smile.

"Is it Max?" I question.

"Yeah, every time I'm around him I begin to act like he's the only one around. I can't help it. He makes me laugh, and blush and the thoughts I have about him. Its so confusing. What do I do?"

"I say go for it. I mean you won't know unless you give it a shot. I can tell he likes you. He seems like a good guy."

He smiles down at me and hugs me.

"I'm glad I have you for a best friend."

I laugh.

"I'll always be here for you. Let's hangout today. Just us, for old times sake. Let's forget about relationships and confusion for a day."

We both begin to laugh.

"Deal." Wyatt laughs.

"Have you talked to Taylor lately?" I ask.

"I talked to her earlier today. Why?"

"I just haven't seen her around lately, I miss her...."

"I heard my name so I must make an entrance." Someone said from behind.

"Taylor!" I exclaimed. "Where have you been?"

"Oh you know, here and there. I miss my best buds though. How are you guys?"

"We're good , now that you're back around."

She giggles.

"Group hug?"

We laugh at her and get together for the group hug I've been waiting for.

Maybe things will be okay between me and my friends.

I hope to put the next chapter up soon.
