I, Kairi Barousse, have just woken up to find myself in front of the best culinary school in Japan, "Totsuki Culinary Academy". Now, you may be wondering how I suddenly found myself in Japan - when I was previously in France - without me knowing? Well, let me tell you.

-Flashback to 10 minutes prior-

"...ake...up..."

I was sleeping peacefully, when I felt someone shaking me. Too tired to respond, I ignore it.

"...Wake up..."

Whoever it was was persistent in waking me from my slumber. Not wanting my moment of bliss to end, I continue to ignore it, hoping they'd just give up.

"WAKE UP KAIRI!"

"What do you want Maman?" I ask with a yawn. I slowly got up from what seems like a car seat while rubbing my tired eyes.

"Finally, you're awake. My goodness, you sleep like a log," my mother, Sherry, huffs. "Well, now that you're awake, grab your stuff from the trunk, we're here."

After taking a few seconds to process the information, due to my half awake state, questioned start to flow through my head.

"Wait, Maman, what?" was all I said in my confused state.

"My, how slow you are Kai. Do you need me to spell out everything for you?" my mother said with a sigh.

In this case, I don't it's the fact that I'm slow. The last thing I remember was going to sleep in my bed. I don't remember ever packing my bags or getting in a car.

"We are currently in Japan, at the entrance of the best culinary school "Totsuki Academy", where your father graduated from."

I definitely don't remember getting on a plane either.

"From today onward, you will be attending Totsuki, and are not allowed back home until you graduate," she said, ushering me out of the car along with my bags.

"Good luck, Kai! You'll need it!" she said, getting back in the car. "Totsuki is ruthless and unforgiving, with less than 10% of students graduating. Although I'm sure you'll do just fine. Do your best! Au revoir, ma cherie!~"

With those final parting words, my frivolous mother speed off into the distance.

-Flashback End-

In short, my mother packed my bags, dragged me on a plane, brought me to another country, and dropped me off at a prestigious school without any of my consent or knowledge. Sigh, what a pain.

Well, no point crying over spilt milk.

With my mind, body and soul already completely exhausted, I grabbed my bags and begrudgingly trudged my way into Totsuki.

(Maman = Mom)

(Au revoir, ma cherie = Bye darling)

A/N: They were speaking in french the entire time, just to let you know.
