One week later.

The roads winded together like tethered rope, each street, blending into the last like a non ending, repetitive pattern. Each sight to be seen different yet so much the same as the last one visible. Every dark night, just as bright as every light day. Everything blended that way on the road trip to nowhere. Everything felt like nothing, and nothing felt like everything. I tell this to you in this way because Lilly really wanted her trip around america to sound poetic, but the truth was that they pretty much slept in the back seat of Marvin's taxi without a shower between them and no money to there name. Marvin didn't care though. He was making money either way and so far there had been absolutely no sign of Alonzo or the Circus. In fact, really nothing interesting had occurred since they had left. They had stopped at a gas station and shot up the place so that they could get some food, but besides that, the trip had remained quite uneventful. So, when the car finally ran out of gas in the middle of a stretch of road in the Missouri dessert, Marvin actually felt a bit excited. Before of course realizing the massive problem with the situation. They were in the middle of nowhere with a few bottles of water and a pack of red vines that was half empty.

"Well..." Marvin persed his lips and cleared his throat.

Sam noticing that the car had come to a stop and slowly sat up from his previouse sleeping position. "Well what?" He said half awake.

"Well," Marvin continued. "We are finally out of gas."

"Well, are we in Las Vegas yet?" Sam pressed as he wiped the remainder of the tirdness from his eyes.

"Far from it, kiddo. This is Missouri. We're about, I'd say, a few hundred thousand miles from Las Vegas." He itched his nose. "Course it could be more, I'm no mathmatition as it is."

"Wait..." Sam started to put the peices together as he looked out the window. "So we're stranded... in the middle of the desert."

"Fun fact, it actually isn't a desert, it's actually a plain, it's just that-"

"Marvin..." Sam shook his head. "Why didn't you get gas at the last gas station." Sam felt rage building up in his chest, but he wasn't ready to let it blow just yet.

"Well, I don't exactly have any money and you can't really rob a gas pump. If you shoot it it'll just explode and that doesn't help anyone. I mean it's be cool, probably." Marvin turned around and faced Sam with amusment on his face.

There was a long pause.

"MARVIN!"

Lilly shot up, scared awake from Sam's sudden anger.

Sam felt his fists shake. "WE HAVE NO FOOD OR CAR AND WE ARE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A DESERT! WHAT THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO NOW!?"

There was another long pause.

He shrugged. "We have red vines."

"Holy shit... I'm going to kill you." Sam opened his door and jumped out of the car.

Lilly followed suit to see her big buff pirate boyfriend in action.

Sam ripped open Marvin's door and pulled him out with all his might. This was considerbly easier than it should of since Marvin wasn't a fan of seat belts. All could have been avoided otherwise. Marvin fell onto the sandy ground and quickly tride to crawl away, but he knew deep down that such an accomplishment would be unreachable in this circumstance. Sam jumped on top og him and flipped him over like an unfinished pancake. Marvin flopped onto the ground and looked up at Sam with fear in his eyes. If Alonzo wanted these guys dead, they must have been quite dangerous as it was. Marvin was not excited to see what that might mean.
