Chapter 11

Although Barry was staying with his psychiatrist, they still had sessions together. Barry liked these sessions better than the ones they had at the hospital. Their sessions were more private since they were at the house, but sometimes they would go to the park and bring Benny along. 

Iris would constantly give Barry medication. He didn't mind it though, he thought it tasted better than the ones they gave him at the hospital.

Barry's improvement hasn't changed much. He still whispers to himself, but somehow when he's around Benny, he finds a way to stop. Iris has seen this strange manner, and it gave her an idea. She made Benny a therapy dog for Barry. Seeing how he's calm and focused around him.

So each time they had their sessions Benny would be there. Either on the floor or on Barry's lap. This made Barry feel comfortable talking about his problems. Seeing as Barry would almost never say anything during their sessions at the hospital. While having Benny on his lap and petting him, he had told Iris about how Eobard treated and abused him as a kid. He told her every aspect of his story. From the accident his parents were in, to Eobard leaving him for long periods of time. He remembers Eobard leaving him alone at the house and only returning at 12:00am, sometimes 1:00am. He had been out drinking while Barry starves to death. Sometimes if Barry was lucky, he would find 2 or maybe 3 packets of Ramen noodles.

As Barry told the story, he teared up and felt the pain he had as a kid. You poor thing, I had no idea, I'm so sorry that happened to you. Iris consoled him as she reached out to hold Barry's hand. As Barry wiped a tear from his cheek, he looked down to find the Jack Russell sprawled out on his lap. He smiled at this outcome before looking up at Iris, to find her wiping away a tear from her own eyes, then looking at them in awe.
