After the incident, Barry had changed and became a better man. He was no longer the Chemist, he didn't want to be a criminal who assaults and murders people. He wanted to be the best guy he could be for Iris. He wanted to spoil her, and buy her whatever she wanted.
Barry was not taking anymore pills for his psychiatric disorder, seeing that he doesn't have one. And when Iris presented him with inkblots, he would just tell her he sees nothing but inkblots. It seems to Iris that Barry was cured, or that he never had a psychiatric disorder.
They both lived a happy normal life. And it wasn't going to be long til they welcomed a new member of their family. Barry was going to do everything he could to make sure that he's girlfriend and unborn daughter have a life they deserve.
