I smiled at my mom, knowing that we were finally moving out of Alice Springs. We were moving to Melbourne because of her job transfer. Which made me, Naomi, the happiest girl on the whole planet. I didn't really like it here. No one liked me and it would be good to start fresh.

"Come on Naomi, we're going to be late!" My mom yelled up the stairs at me. It was very faint because Heartbreak Girl by 5 Seconds of Summer was on full blast, but I have good ears so I still managed to hear her.

"I'll be down in a minute!" As soon as I said that, without even seeing my mom, I knew she rolled her eyes. That's just how she was.

I grabbed my last bag and set it down in the hallway. I looked at my faint pink room one last time before walking downstairs with the last of my things.

"Finally. Sweetheart. We're going to miss our flight if you don't speed up!" I know what time our flight is, and she's not tricking anyone. We aren't going to be late, even if I took another 20 minutes, so I just rolled my eyes at her. All of our main furniture was left in the living room and family room. That stuff is going to be shipped there. We're just bringing what we need right away, with us on the flight.

"Alright, I'm ready mom. You can stop rushing me now for no reason." I playfully pushed her and she just let out a small chuckle. I smiled at her and brought my things out to the car.

"The car is packed and we're ready to go. Do you want to drive? Or do you want me to?" I shrugged my shoulders, "I'll drive."

I grabbed the keys from my moms hand and we both got in and buckled.

"I gotta say, I am going to miss this house." My mom nodded, obviously agreeing with me. We both looked at the house one more time and then I drove off never to look back.
