You got to his room and took a deep breath. You then grabbed the clipboard hanging on a hook besides the door and walked inside. You saw him and he saw you, instantly making you notice the look in his eyes. It was a different look, a normal look. It wasn't the look he gave you the night before, although it was equally as intriguing. He flashed a slight smile and you smiled back.
"Mr.Finn, how are you doing this morning?" You say as you closed the door behind you. "I'm doing...fine." He said softly. You had a feeling that wasn't the case so you boldly say, "You don't look fine. You look quite uncomfortable to be here." You saw his face go soft, giving you a slightly sad look that supported your claim. You pulled a chair up and sat next to his bed. "Tell me how you are feeling at the moment." He glanced at you and then looked away, signifying that he didn't want to speak. You sighed. "Also he's gonna be a toughie. I shouldn't automatically ask him about his personalities. He seems timid, so we'll just start with introduction."
You smile and began to introduce yourself, telling Caleb your name and some things about yourself. You could tell that he was beginning to get a bit comfortable around you, you knew that would happen. It's exactly what you needed so you could progress. "So now that I have said some things about myself, how about you tell me some things about you? You don't have to say much, say as much as you need to."
"I don't want to talk. How do I know that I can trust you? How do I know you won't hurt me? How do I know you won't judge me?" He said. You noticed a slight tone of fear in his voice, then you pieced something together. "This might be one of two things. He's extremely nervous or this could be one of his personalities." You said, "Listen, this is a private space. Everything and anything you say will be confidential. Don't worry. You can trust me." He gave you a soft, innocent look and flashed a gentle smile. "Austin...my name is Austin." He said shyly. "Yep, one of his personalities." "So, Austin, tell me something about yourself." He began, "I'm 15. I'm shy. I'm never really had many friends. I've always...been alone."
As he talked, you wrote down everything that he said so you could be able to remember. "Why don't you tell me about your childhood? What about your parents?" You said. He gasped slightly and teared up, bursting out into tears. It shocked you at how quickly the even mention of his parents would make him break down like this. It even frightened you a bit, it was the first time in years that you've ever felt a jolt of fear. As you watched him cry, you notice him twitch a bit. His crying grew harder and harder, then...he started to growl. Twitching and growling, it progressively got worse and the fear in your body. "A-Austin..?" You stuttered as you reaches a hand out to him. He then shot his face up and you saw his face. How drenched it was with tears along with a devilish smile. "AUSTIN ISN'T HERE ANYMORE!!" He screamed at you. You sprang up from your chair and slowly began to step back. You watched fearfully as he slowly got up from his bed, staring into your soul as he sulked his way towards you. "P-Please...c-calm-" You couldn't bring yourself to say anything as the anxiety in your body restricted you from saying anything. Just then, he sprang at you and you quickly ran out the door, slamming it shut right before he could get at you. You frantically used to your key to lock it and shook, letting out trembling breaths. He banged on the door, screaming your name like a mad man. "Note to self: be careful when you mention his parents." You whispered to yourself.
Later that day, you were driving home and as usual you let your mind wander. You did it all the time while you were driving and while you knew it was dangerous, you were able to be responsible enough to multitask. You thought what could've been linked to the way Caleb had acted. What could've been linked to his trigger. You wished that your appointment with him hadn't been cut so short, but you knew that you had another appointment tomorrow. This time, you knew you had to be more careful.
