You walked into the psychiatric ward, yawning. Another late night call to check up on Caleb. You walked past Anne's desk and she said, "Going to check up on your pet?" she said.
You stopped in your tracks and chuckled a bit, rolling your eyes as you faced her. "Not this again, Anne. He isn't my pet, he's my patient and frankly a pain in the neck." "You should just call him your lover already. He can't go one moment without you checking on him." she teased. You sigh and shake your head. "He just needs company. I mean who wouldn't when your locked up in a place like this. No one else in your room but you and your thoughts."
"Well he must be thinking about you a lot. He switched between his normal side and his horny side a lot and won't stop saying your name when he's-" You quickly stop her from finishing her sentence, interrupting her by saying, "You REALLY get bored on your night shifts, don't you?" She chuckled and shrugged, pulling out a magazine and saying, "It's not my fault. He's pretty loud."
You blushed when she said that and a quick flash of your sexual fantasies about him came to mind. "U-Um...well then...on another note, I think that he's doing well enough to get out of this prison. I mean he's really progressing. After opening up to me about his terrible past, he hasn't been switching as frequently and he's learning how to control them. He's beginning to function and I think he's able to go out in the real world." Anne pulled out his file and looked through it, saying, "Hm...well his stay here is supposed to go until the rest of this month, but if you feel like he's fit to go then go right ahead."
You smiled and nodded. "I will." You heard him call out your name, making other patients yell at him to shut up. "He's been doing this for about an hour, so you better get back there." Anne said. With that, you went back to him.
A few weeks later on a sunny afternoon, you were in your at-home office and doing some paperwork that was assigned to you the day before. You hummed softly when you phone began ringing. It was Louis! You smiled and answered the phone, saying, "Hey, Lou. What's going on?" you greeted happily. "Oh nothing much. I was just around in the neighborhood and wondering if you had wanted to head out to lunch?" "Sure!" After planing out where you guys were going to meet up, you began getting ready. You did your normal routine of taking a shower, picking out clothes and putting them on. You didn't wear anything major, just some ripped jeans, tank top, and denim jacket. You then headed down to the local diner.
You pulled into the parking lot and headed inside. The cook named Marty, and known by everyone, gave his usual greeting to you. "Welcome to Harvey's Diner, where the delicious food and retro decor will give you a full stomach and wanting more!" You smiled and waved, slightly and greeted, "Hey Marty. Did Louis come in here?'' Marty nodded and pointed you to the table he was at. You thanked him and went to the table.
"What's up buckaroo?" he said with a smile. "Hey, Lou! So listen, I wanna tell you about my patient." His smile faded a bit and his hummed, saying, "Oh...go ahead.." "So I've been working with him for months now and at first it was pretty rocky. You know how it was because you were kinda there." "Mhm.." he hummed. Louis honestly looked like he was drifting into a daydream, but you didn't notice. You were too excited to tell him! "So his treatment will be over in about a few weeks, but...I'm thinking about releasing him the day I get back to work!" Just then he froze and his eyes widened, making you giggle. "I know it seems crazy, but he's opened up to me a lot! Ever since then, he's been functioning pretty normally and I think he's ready to go out into the real world!" Louis chuckled nervously and fiddled with his fingers. "Where will he stay? It'll be hard for him to find a place. He has no job or money." You shook your head, saying, "Ah, ah, ah, my friend. I already planned ahead because he'll stay with me!"
His eyes widened once again and began to twitch slightly. "I already talked to Marty and pretty much begged for him to be able to let him work here. Finally, he said that he can come in when he's ready and-" "(Y/n), I wanted to talk to you about something," he said as he gently held your hand. You furrowed your brows, confused, and you laughed nervously. "Okay...what's wrong, Lou..?"
He sighed and hesitantly said, "I know your work is important to you and all...but..I don't know how to say this. I just feel like it's been getting between us and you know exactly what I mean. I'm not mad or anything, but I guess I'm a hurt and maybe a bit jealous."
You sighed, looking down and blushed. A feeling of guilt washed over you. You didn't even realize how distant you were getting and it hurt you even more that you hurt your best friend. "Louis, I'm so sorry. I guess I was just so blinded and you know he's been wanting me around more often." He chuckled a bit and nodded. "I can tell that you're tired and you clearly looked overworked." You laughed softly and nodded, looking down. "Look, how about this; we go out and go on a shopping spree and we can play that game where I can pick out your clothes, we head back to my place, and you and I have a movie marathon. Just you and me!'' "That would be amazing, Lou..."
Hours later, you walked into Louis's house with bags in each other's hand. "I can't wait to see the outfits you got me." you said. He closed the door and smiled. "Go ahead and look at them, silly! I'm not stopping you!" You excitedly went to the bathroom and gasped. Each piece of clothing made you swoon and happiness filled your system. At that moment, you were so happy to have Louis as a friend. You tried on outfit after outfit, admiring yourself in the mirror each time. You eventually got to the last pair of clothing, a blood red dress. It caught your eye, mainly because the color was so bright. You quickly slipped it on, eyes widening. Your figure looked amazing in it. Before you knew it, you were already making your way downstairs to thank Louis.
When you got there, Louis was coming out of the kitchen with two wine glasses. He whistled and looked you up and down. "Damn...I knew you would look good in that dress." You laughed a bit and twirled. "It looks and feels absolutely amazing on me! Thank you so much, Lou!" He smiled and shook his head. "The pleasure is all mine, buckaroo. Now let's get this movie started!"
You laughed as you watched the movie with Louis. You were already halfway done with your wine and taking another sip, you noticed that..it started to taste a little funny. It didn't taste normal, but much more bitter instead. "Hey Lou, what type of wine did you buy?" you asked. "The type that I usually have, Vanderpump Rosé." Something didn't feel right as you then started to feel sleepy. You started blacking in and out, saying lazily, "Oh...I love...Vanderp..."
You passed out.
